BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Captain was not an obvious choice to to most Media Tipsters and most were swayed by El Padrino;s notable trackwork which was highlighted and illuminated for the public to see and be impressed but Jun Ru (finally broke his duck on Big Races) and Zhengiang of Victory Trail and Meng Yew of Wan Bao together with Singapore Nap . Starstatz Racing nd LS ( Longshot ) managed to pick the winner as well!

I was particular proud that I was one of 2 or the only tipster to tip the top 2 in the correct order and most followers of the 2 blogs would have reaped a bountiful harvest on not just the winner who paid $22/$10 but those who followed our advice closely would have scored on the forecast which paid $22 and the pft which paid $10 from each $6 investment. Those who had the budget and used 1 as the sole banker and included 3-10 as the key horses on the 2nd line would have scored the tierce of $161 with just an investment of $20 by using the remaining horses mentioned if one had a big budget and for an investment of $80 the quartet of $1165 would have been bagged.

The results of the race vindicated that the horse with the best speed figure is sure to win the race and on Sunday we face this handicapping question again with Savannah Dancer( would have been forced to carry 53 kg) having the best Speed figure ( albeit at 1200M and the 2nd best HR rating. If this was a true handicap race Speedy Cat with the best handicap ratings would have to carry a massive 12 kg extra and forced to carry 67 kg instead of his present 55kg under the conditions of this race. Speedy Cat has a comfortable 4.5 points handicap advantage over his main rival Savannah Dancer

I believe STC and the horse racing industry have lost an opportunity to promote racing indirectly by securing an in depth interview with the winner of the Race 1 jackpot quartet on Friday even if the winner wanted to remain anonymous. It would have been interesting to know whether he played the winner /field/field.field or to know how much he invested to win the bonus jackpot and even how he went about picking the winners in the top 4 and the methodologies he used . In HKG Racing we get to hear stories on how a certain racegoer won the triple trio twice and how he was cheated of his winnings as well by his wife (if I am not mistaken) . Such stories make intriguing reading and would stimulate the general public with a fascination of racing .

PREVIEW OF RACE

The pace of this race will be fast with 4 front running types jostling for the lead and the rails run and I strogly believe that the winner will not come front this front running group of 5-7-1-4 and I expect 5 especially to suffer the side effects of the brisk pace set and may even be caught wide out without cover which would make hhim lose out of the top 4 as he would have to be scrubbed to get across to get the rails run and would'nt have much left in the last 200M.

In order my selections are 3-9-7-1-4-6-5. I suggest using 3 as the lone banker and and 9- 7 as the key horses on the 2nd line for those with a limited budget. For the forecast / place forecast use 3#9-7 and use 9-7 as key horses on the 2nd line with the remaining 9-7-1-4-6-5 on the remaining 3rd and 4th lines! All my top 6 selections have won on soft track and all 7 picks will do well if the track is yielding as expected!.

Place a 3 *** big bet on win only on Speedy Cat

I hope the trend of only 2 favourites obliging in 14 races wil break its strangehold on this phenomenon today!
