Starstatz Racing is taking the weekend off due to work commitments.

I may have been late in posting my singapore nap blog so I shall replicate it here and it shall count in my tally for the strike rate challenge.

SINGAPORE NAP
21 OCTOBER 2011
JOHN OF ARCH
RACE 6 - CLASS 3
1600M POLYTRACK
STAKES $75,000

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
The tally for last wek was not up to date but was for last Friday. The tally is now Singapore Nap 1st in strike rate challenge with 29 wins/
/25 placings from 84 selections fro a % of 34.52% and Frosty is on 2nd with 244 wins from 787 selections for a 5 of 31%. Tan Thean Loon is in 3rd with 235 wins
from 787 selectioms for a % of 29.86% and Starstatz Racing is in 4th for a % of 29.33% from a tally of 110 wins from 375 selections

There willl be no posting on starstaracing for this week due to work commitments

PREVIEW OF RACE

My selections in order are 3-6-7-5-4-8-1-2. (EVERY HORSE IF BODY WEIGHT INCLUDING 2 (LESS EXPERIENCE OVER THIS DISTANCE)
are capable of being in top 4 and the winner may be a previously seemingly overweight horse who comes down in weight and surprises. That is why I am advocating a weigh-in before
or even the good tipsters might be caught by surprise.. I suggest a small bet as this is a wide open race but I fancy Lockdown will not do well for this week(PLEASE IGNORE THIS REMARK DUE LATE MAIL TRACK INFORMATION)....Late mail additional information not available on official Singapore Nap....suggest Dutch betting and do serious cover bet on Lockdown so I suggest to upgrade 1 to joint 1st spot for 1st line joint banker and do forecast strongly on 1#3 and cover smaller amount on 3#1-6 AND 1#3-6.

Please note that is a tyPo error in my selections for Race 10 on Singapore Nap...it should read as medium bet...9-3-1-4-6-11-5. The market and my trackwatcher seem to favour 6 strongly as the likely winner SO DO CONSIDER THIS OPTION or bet small in a wide open race!

With a deluge of rainfall and the absence of a calculator or "magic powder(Moreira is on a Brazil holiday) I believe the average Media Tipster will be hard pressed to score 3 wins tonight and I expect the top performer to have 4 wins and it would be sufficient to top the charts. Front runners and on pace runners will have a distinct double advantage in slow paced races.i suggest to play cautiously and until you are ahead and increase your betting in the 2nd half of the Race Card in the races marked "BIG"

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Top Media Tipster Honours form for 02 Octobber go to the normal battler and current wooden spoonist Meng Yew of Wan Bao with 7 wins including
a value bet on Tarankali ($53/$17) . Unlike the wooden spoonists of previous seasons I have a healthy respect for the battlers this season as they are specialists in
tipping value bets and longshots. On the current format it is by no means certain that Meng Yew will remain where he is and is involved in a 3 way dogfight
(refers to glorious air battles and has nothing to do with dogs!).There are only 4 points separating MengYew Jun Ru of Wan Bao and Winner21.However if we
include all the racing journalists from Victory Trail, the journalists on the STC website and the 2 Guys from the Straits Times advertorials I believe the
wooden spoon will either of these 3 . Its about time STC (a neutral party) should take charge of tallying this challenge and all internet/Media Tipsters inder strict
stipulated guidelines and conditions should be included. If journalists are not proud of their work how will there be improvements? We have seen 1st hand how the Straits
Times have improved from poor in the 1st half of this year to table topping perfomances in the 3rd quarter. I hope STC takes my cue and adopts the compilation of scores from next season!

Apologies are in order for Craig Brennan who posted the article on Clear For Action. With hindsight and no previous significant Handicap advantage and Speed Figures
Clear For Action almost put egg on my faces with a sterling performances which can be attrributed to his yearling price and the addition of blinkers.Luckily my pick
Better Than Ever saved me from total humiliation by beating(the barrier draw helped my cause as well) Clear For Action!
Apologies are also in order for Brian Miller whom I had earlier commented as a utility player ie journalist for the Newpaper as a benchwarmer. He has since beaten me on some race days and we actulally went toe -to-toe with Meng Yew for top Media Tipster honours for the day. In the end Meng Yew finished with a flourish and both of us had to settle for 2nd place with 6 wins each form 12 races (50% strike rate). Earlier in the season when I posted my comments I was basing it on the premise that Brian's knowledge of horse racing was at the level when we 1st met during the time when Yonex was the sponsor for the Singapore Badmintom Open. I must admit with hindsight that Brian though not in the top 3 is still holding his own with a credible performance in the 20-25% range must have improved with experience and the reading of books over the years.

Singapore Nap is still in the lead in the strike rate challenge with 33.75% (27 wins/23 placings from 80 selections. Andrew Frost is in 2nd with 235 wins from a maximum
of 755 races and Thean Loon is on 29.93%(226 wins). Startstaz Racing is in 4th with 9.15%(100 from 343 selections).Racing Guide and Winner21 sms
are in joint 5th with 29.14%(220 wins), In 7th is Hui Liang with 28.61%(216 wins) and Punters Way with 27.95% (211 wins).Xiu Fang is in 9th with 27.55%(208 wins)
and Larry Foley makes the top ten with 26.89% (203 wins).

I will be posting on starstatzracing on race day as I try to close the gap on Andrew with the use of the new Trackus sectional times!

PREVIEW OF RACE

With the posting by Michael Lee and Craig Brennan it would seem that this race is a 4 horse race between 2 Group 3 winners comiong back versus 2 seasoned 1100M
polytracj campaigners. They could be right but I would recommend to take a calculated risk between putting your faith ion Freedman's confidence in Dictator against 2 Group 3
horses running 1st up after a break of 82 days for 1 and 216 days for 4.I would take 5 and 3 to beat 1 and 4 despite the postings. In the reports 1 has been reportedly having dry
coat problems despite winning his trials. Although 4 has won at this distance overseas I rate him more as a 1400M/1600M type. Anyway I do fancy 1 to do better than 4 in this race.
I will not rule out 1 or 4 to win this race but I suspect thety will end up tryinh to keep the top 4 spots but I suspect 7 will edge both of them with 5 or 3beating this lot
judging from the confidence eminating from the Freedman Camp on the winning chances of Dictator.

The pace will be good to fast with 1 and 4 matching strides to contest the rails run with 4-7-3 stalking them till the home stretch. 2 and 6 will bring up the rear. While 1 and 4 have a track record of doing well 1st up I expect 5 with the 2nd best handicap after 7 and the best sectionals will swamp this field if fighting in earnest. If not and also if the pace is hot
then 3 will flash home brilliantly in the last 50M.The figurs are there for 5 to win this race but I advise caution as theis is Beasley's 1st ride on the horse and I would suggest an equal
cover bet on 3 in casr 5 is taking a day off!. I would rate 1 and 4 as place chances but with good recent form i expect 7 to edge both of them with 1 edging 4 for the last scrap in 4th spot!

IN ORDER MY SELECTIONS ARE 5-3/7-1///4-2.i SUGGEST A BIG BET ON 5#3-7 FOR FORECAST/PLACE FORECAST AND USING THEM AS KEY HORSES ION THE 2ND LINE WITH THE REMAINING CHOICES ON THE 3RD AND 4TH LINES IF YOU ARE ON A BUDGET. iF NOT i SUGGEST USIN4 AND 3 AS BANKER ON THE 1ST LINE.

STARSTATZ RACING 02 OCTOBER 2011

For today I shall give up my Fund Manager Trial Application which was very successful and if launched in reality I passed the test with flying colours by avoiding the winner in almost all((all if you downgrade the fat and overweight Alacarte who was clearly not in the market with the 3rd pick Paulinho being upgraded as I did stipulate that he must drop by approximately 5kg which did not happen))the races . Despite officially putting only putting 3 wins on the board I covered the winners on the exotics with stipulated Dutch betting in most of the races. A detailed post performance analysis is featured in my Singapore Nap posting which may not happen for today as I had missed the posting deadline but I shall keep my fingers crossed. In the event of no posting the score will not count on Singapore Nap but I shall take the outcome...whatever the result in my strike rate challenge which has no dateline as long as it is posted before the race starts as anybody can be wise after the event.

I was fascinated by the comments and impressive work of Matthew Jones whom I rate very well for his diction and well researched comments even though he may not be a top rated tipster but he acquits himself creditably with value picks. His presentation and commentaries are like a breath of fresh air well respected in the racing fraternity , forums and racing circles. I particularly echo his comments on Track Talk regarding "we don't have many mare races...we should have more.

I wonder what happen to my First Love...Lady Archer owned by Malcolm Thwaites and my girlfriend asked me "how come there is only one white horse (we did place a win bet on her)running? She romped home by more than lengths (closer to 20 lengths if my memory is correct. My next fond association with the opposite sex was a Group 1 wiinning filly called Zirna by Deputy Governor/Riverly Lass who produced foals by Danzero and Starcraft whose offspring Crafty Irna(by Starcraft) has gone on to win a Group 3 blacktype stakes race. With the path trodden by Streisand now called Torch (more to come from the useful progeny Clint) and our famous duo of Jolies' Shinju and Mexican Rose STC should plan ahead next season to create a artificial high class breeding industry although we lack the fields and meadows of Australia and New Zealand. Through the direct or shared ownership of these fillies we can have the chance to produce and own future Champions and Crafty Irna has proven that local dreams can come through. Besides having more fillies and mares races we could provide more incentives for mares owned by STC owners and give them special homebred(in a sense of local owned) races and bonuses for winning races to encourage this new direction to greater heights as owners take direct control of the breeding process instead of just buying from ready to run sales....who knows we could find our next Rocket Man!

I read wth trepidation Craig Brennan's tip on Better Than Ever in today's Panasonic Kranji Mile. Let's hope my fears are not justified and it is just Laxon's payback tip for the debacle interview on Ace Aliado who I believe may win a race (given time and with distant hopes)but will never reach his true potential before he broke down.
As my reaction to the ST advertorials my late mail advice is to do Dutch betting and cover an equal amount on Speed Baby...just in case my fears materialise! If it rains at Kranji do bet more on Speed Baby

Today's races are more difficult compared to last Friday but there are gems to be collected especially in the latter half of the card and Moreira particularly should outdo (or at least equal ) his haul on Friday. Do be cautious and bet seriously on races tagged medium or big. I believe most Media Tipsters including myself will struggle to hit 4 or 5 winners so procced with caution and let's hope Moreira delivers as well as our local Champion in Japan!

For today I shall abandon the Bagman/fund Manager perspective but as a bonus for my loyal fans I shall provide more than the standard 4 selections for exotic bet aficiandos(use the 1st 4 for direct comparison with other local media Tipsters). For exotic bets do a single banker unless I tag the race as Dutch betting. If this is so then use the 1st 2 picks as banker on the 1st line and drop the 7th pick in your exotics>

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

With Media Tipsters like Tan Thean Loon who hit 7 winners on Friday(almost broke my joint record if Kaiser had won.) and the ultra consistent Andrew Frost it is time we
have a media tipster and even a jockey challenge (similar to HKG).

What we don't need is the saga of Don't Tell The Wife and The Tall Tale on "Tell A Tale, the irrerevant and disrespectful posting on Clear For Action to do well
in the Panasonic Kranji Mile. Even the owner will probably waste more than $10($5 win/$5 place which some owners do as a habit when their horse run) on the tote. With his ratings difference of 44 points I will be surprised if Clear For Action makes any impact on the 4 Quartet positions much less in winning the race. As the Track Talk boys have commented that despite being a promising type his time will be next year as he rises through the classes. The Straits Times advertorials have compounded their ill -planned postings by writing a non-commital post on Friday without clearly defining their top 4 choices in order. I quote Andrew Frost who said on Track Talk on Wednesday night...."that's what we are paid
for...to have an opinion" I will add...If you can't take the heat and have an opinion go and take a holiday and reassess your posture on postings. I am glad to report after a slight delay(at what time I felt STC was indifferent to my complaint on Don't Tell The Wife) that STC have positively responded and have assured me that they will review the performances of the writers in the Straits Times advertorial team and see if there is an improvement starting from next week onwards. I hope they have better luck in selecting the winning horse for the Straits Times advertorials. Perhaps the gu.ys should consult a fengshui expert as in the past one of them picks a winner but the losing horse gets picked for the bold headlines. While on these tack on improvements I suggest advertising support be given to tutorials on how to make use of the Trackus system and the employment of sectional times as a handicapping tool. On the subject of improvements the welfare of th
we racegoer should take precedent over horse Owners and Trainers who have a weak excuse in not supporting the implementation of pre-race day weighing in of horses. A jockey and a Media Tipster Challenge(hope I am invited ) will be an added bonus while we are on the subject of further improvements

My experioment on Starstaz Racing on my application to be a Fund Manager for an overseas centre in Hong Kong or Australia was an official success and I was able within the 1st 2 picks (Idid recommend Dutch betting in most races) to score on 9 out of 10 races. I had a condition on my 2nd pick in Race 7 that the body weight of Alacarte must drop approximately 5 kg(he dropped by only 2kg and the tote of $100 plus was an indication that the smart money was not on . On race day as a late mail selection I upgraded Paulinho to 2nd choice as a consequence. If the bodyweight was known before selection I would have had a perfect score as a bagman. On the investment side I matched Tan Thean Loon's performance in a different manner. I believe that besides Mr X (I take my hat off to applaud his company and his feat in having to tip the apprentice claimer J Farrok whom I had explained in my big bet advice that he had the experience of bringing in 19 winners in Singapore, South Africa and Australia with the winning ride on Good Boss who paid $57/$9 which is my record longshot for this year. I must thank the teacher in my remedial class for highlighting this tip and myself and Mr X for the courage in tipping this winner in Race 3In my post on Starstaz racing I had suggested Dutch betting in most races and I achieved a direct forecast hit in races 1,3,4,5,7(if allowed to drop overweight Alacarte),9. I also managed to hit the tierces using 2 bankers as I have suggested in Races 1,2,3,4,5,7,9 and 10. The quartet was achieved in Races 1 ,2 3,4, 5, 7 and 9. I concede that some races were losing proposittions with the top 2 favourites coming in 1st and 2nd but the returns Despite only scoring 3 wins , I was a winner (despite losing money on some tierce/quartet payouts) with the higlhight being the forecast of $18 ,tierce of $142 and the quartet of $1184 in Race 3 and the forecast of $14 , tierce of $230 and quartet iof $756 in Race 4.
Tipping feats like Tan Thean Loon's and my feats should be highlighted to show that on a good day racing investments can pay good returns. As a bonus for Staartstaz Racing I
PROVIDED THE DIRECT FORECAST/TIERCE AND QUARTET IN RACE 9 which paid $5, $19 and $94(not bad for $2 investments or even if you box the quartet for $24).

I shall skip the strike rate tally till next week but I can confirm that Singapore Nap is still in the lead with 26 wins/23 placings from 78 selections for a 33.33% I shall endevour to score above this figure by the end of the season.!

PREVIEW OF RACE 4
Not without good reasons our local champion is currently rated the 2nd best sprinter in the World to the coy stay at home Black Caviar. His running style strength and barrier draw will be suited to his on pace running style where he will stalk the leaders. His closest rated rival is actually at a disadvantage despite being drawn in barrier 1.In order my selections are 5-1-8-10-14-6-16. I suggest use 5 as a lone banker with confidence and all the remaining horses in the remaining lines but use 1-8-10 as key horses on the 2nd line if you are on a budget. The only negative is the cold weather but I believe Shaw has made him accustomed to the cold weather and the lack of home ground advantage is compensated by the experience of jockey Coetzee.

PREVIEW OF RACE 10

The media sentiment has fallen on Speed Baby and I will not discount his winning chances but the wide barrier draw has dampened his chances and Clear For Action
will not feature in the top 4 of any decent media tipster worth his salt!
I do not doubt the track reports that Better Than Ever is not the horse he was before he went to Dubai in March this year. I discount his last run when he trouble wide
out throughout and to compound the matter Iheard a rumour that the Owner connections were not even in town(perhaps a busy work schedule) and a neck loss to hot favourite Speed Baby is compensated(1.5 Lengths disadvantage for Speed Baby) by an advantageous draw for BTTE. The way I see it I am willing to take my chances especially if BTTE gives up the favourite tag. I am counting on a few conditions to prevail before i put a medioum bet on BTTE.The weather forecast is showers with thunder but my weatherman gave me a tip that the heavy rainfall will be in Jurong and hopefully give Kranji a miss. I have a tip for those in the Owners stand...look out for the Big Boss of Jupiter Stables to confirm that BTTE will giive it his best shot(actually a big slice of the $500,000 pie is reason enough incenmtive for Saimee and BTTE to keep their minds on the job. I have another pre-race condition ...if it does not rain and Sen or Laxon does not get interviewed (brings bad luck)you can upgrade BTTE to a medium bet.(upgrade to big bet if Speed Baby is odds on ).
favourite). I do not base my pick on whimsical theories but through the checking of previous lead up track wouts Laxon has a habit of sending him on a fast gallop in the early
part of this week and he duly obliged with a 34.5 barrier trial. If it rains at Kranji then I suggest to stick with a small bet on BTTE or switch to Speed Baby or consider a one win/multiple placing modest bet on Always Certain
On the case for Speed Baby his AUS $280K price tag and his finishing burst in losing to stablemate has convionced all his fans he will thereabouts at the finish line. If there is a weakness in Speed Baby's credentials his sectionals are not impressive(the rason could be that the track though rated good had some rain water which made it close to yielding).
On the other hand Always Certain with his good barrier draw and his improving sectionals from doing 48.64 over 1600M in September 2010 to 48.21 over 1800M in July 2011
as an improving 5YO might be the dark horse and surprise to either win or take the 2nd forecast spot. Most of the Media Tipsters have leftt Captain Obvious out of the top 4
and obviously(pardon the pun) I don't blame them as he looked like he was weakening rapidly as Speed Baby closed in on him. However through bloodstock
analysis on the deceased Sire Verglas who produced Group1 progeny I reckon a bit of distance workouts will see his stamina genes come to the fore although his dam is
by sprinting blood. I believe he will not lead like his last run but will have a more relaxed run and Burridge will want him to accompany Speed Banby in the Top 4.

In order my selections are 2-4-6-1-5-3-9. If you do not like any of my top 7 numbers replace him with number 8 Clint but stick to the top 9 and leave out all the big numbers(especially 13 which for this race will be unlucky for most.). I suggest a big bet on forecast / place forecast on 2#4 and a smaller enlarged bet on 2-4#2-4-6 and include 1 if his dividends are high. by doing 2-4#2-4-6-1. Go slow on tierce /quartet and bet token bets only but a 4 horse box on my top 4 for the qaurtet for a budget of $48 is a good alternative or a cheaper alternative use 2-4 as bankers and use 2-4-6-1 on the remaining lines for a $24 outlay.
