STARSTATZ RACING HKG RACES 31 JANUARY 2010

This is my 1st attempt at HKG Races for this season. After the results are out I will compare (no matter if I fare badly or well...I am a little ring rusty...not having done HKG races very much for 2010 but let;s see my standards in comparison)them with the various tipsters in the market eg Punters Way Racing Guide , HS Chan from Sagacity and compare the head to head tally for the day.

Race 1 GALLANT HUSSAR...SMALL...1-10-11-4...MOST OPEN RACE OF THE DAY ...FAVOURITES MAY FAIL....SUGGEST SKIP THIS RACE UNLESS YOU ARE LOOKING FOR VALUE BETS AND LONGSHOTS.

RACE 2 BE MY SONG...MEDIUM ....4-7-2

RACE 3 MING HOI TREASURE ...BIG...3-4-9

RACE 4 ELITE SIXTY-SIX...MEDIUM....1-2-5

RACE 5 BRAVE HEART...BIG...4-7-3

RACE 6 SILVER BLAZE...MEDIUM...14-13-7-3...COVER 13 IF DESIRED

RACE 7 SACRED KINGDOM...BIG...1-3-6-8-4...BEST BET OF THE DAY...MOST OF THE HKG TIPSTERS THINK HE IS OVER THE HILL AND OFFERS POOR VALUE HOWEVER I BELIEVE ONLY ONE WORLD HAS THE SF(SPEED FIGURES) TO TROUBLE HIM BUT HIS HR(HANDICAP RATINGS OUTGUN THIS FIELD AND ENCOSTA DELAGO'S PROGENY ARE NOTED FOR THE 1000M DISTANCE...SOME TIPSTERS HAVE RATED GREEN BIRDIE WELL BUT HIS SIRE CATBIRD AND GB'S OWN RECORD HAS NOT LOOKED CONVINCING AT 1000M

RACE 8 EGYTIAN RA...BIG...1-2-5-4-3-6-9-8...MOST HKG TIPSTERS THINK EGYTIAN RA IS MORE SUITED TO 1400M AND THEY ARE PROBABLY RIGHT. MOREOVER HIS BODY WEIGHT WHILE IN THE WINNING RANGE IS NOT AS IDEAL AS THAT OF HIS ARCH RIVAL GOOD BA BA. i HAVE NOTICE GBB'S WINS WERE MOSTLY ON THE A COURSE AND HE HAS WON ONCE AT 1600M ON THE B COURSE IN A GROUP 2 RACE.I SUUGEST YOU DO A COVER BET ON GOOD BA BAJUST IN CASE I AM WRONG. SOME TIPSTERS HAVE GONE FOR VALUE AND TIPPED OTHER HORSES BUT i RECKON ON HR/SF IT WILL BE A STRAIGHT FIGHT BETWEEN THE TOP 2 RATED HORSES BUT I DO EXPECT SURPRISES FOR THE EXOTIC BET PLACINGS. i WOULD SUGGEST A 1-2/1-2/FIELD FOR TIERCE OR IF YOU HAVE A LOWER BUDGET DO SELECT FROM MY NARROWED LIST WHICH IS 75% OF THE FIELD.

RACE 9 JOHNSON...BIG 14-3-4-7...CAN COVER 3 IF DESIRED

RACE 10 ROYAL FLUSH ...BIG 14-3-11...COVER 3 IF DESIRED

Do consider the 2nd choices if you are not comfortable with my 1st choices as I am looking courageously for value play and being true to my analysis despite them not always being favourites...Good Luck!

STARSTATZ RACING 29 JANUARY 2010

I am running 4th with 21 wins in the internet/print media challenge trailing behind racing Guide and the affable Ma Chao of Wan Bao who are on 24 wins with Tan Thean Loon on 3rd with 22 wins. Today's races are a good test of punditry skills as they are quite tricky except for the Group 3 Race in Race 7 where Better Than Ever is a shoo-in. Please note that horses on the left of the 2 slashes are the main chances while those on the right of the 3 slashes have no chance of winning(at least in my opinion) but are good as exotic bet fillers. For a detailed analysis of Race 7 please have a good look at the 7naps.com website. where a good quartet plan is on offer.

My selections are as follows:-

RACE 1 API API...MEDIUM...1-9/3// 5-8/// 2-4....PACE VERY SLOW

STARSTATZ RACING 23 JANUARY 2010

The leader board remains relatively unchanged with most of the Top 5 chalking up 2 wins. I did advise to play with caution last night and I was correct. STARSTATZ RACING 22 JANUARY 2010

Despite a slow start to the season I managed to be joint top scorer for the day with 5 wins on 17 January with Zheng Liang of Shin Min(on dollar value he was better by $2). and managed to climb back to joint 3rd ...one win behind the front runners Racing Guide and Ma Chao of Wan Bao (both with 17 wins). I am on 16 wins with Hui Liang from Shin Min , Danny Khoo and Tan Thean Loon from the Newpaper. Punters Way, Larry Foley (Newpaper), Zheng Liang(Shin Min) and Andrew Frost (STC) are next on 15 wins. Xiu Fang (Shin Min) and Zheng Qiang(Wan Bao) are on 14 wins.Meng Craig Evans(STC) is on 13 wins followed by Meng Yew on 12 wins and HS Chan from Sagacity on 11 wins. Lao Wang(STC), Ma Hui(STC), Winner 21 and MIchael Maxworthy at 20% with 4 wins from 20 selections are next on 10 wins.Marc Tan of Newpaper brings up the rear with 7 wins. Please do correct me if any of these scores are incorrect at email address insiders111@yahoo.com.sg

Today's races are rather difficult and 1st favourites may not fare so well today. Do have a good look at the 2nd favourites closely as I expect a few upsets today. Do be cautious and save your big bets for Saturday. For a detailed analysis of Race 6 do visit www.7naps.com where I am a guest pundit representing Singapore.

My selections are as follows:-

STARSTATZ RACING 17 JANUARY 2010

I had a miserable outing with 1 and 3 placings from 9 races. My only consolation is that the top 2 had the same score . Danny Khoo is leading the pack with 14 wins and I am trailing in joint 9th place with 11 wins, 16 placings from 39 races. The hallmark of a good tipster is that he has a good place rate despite not being in top form. My win strike rate stands at 28.21% but my win/place rate is an impressive 69.23%. The weaker tipsters usually have a poor place rate as well. Please visit www.7naps.com for a detailed report on Races 9 and 11. I would suggest to invest cautiously in the early lower class races and invest more later when you are winning as some races are tricky and would produce a fair share of surprises as most of the favourites are not a shoo-in today.
My selections are :-

RACE 1 NADAL...SMALL...1-4/5// 2-7///6-8...pace slow...be cautious as Nadal is alow bodyweight horse carrying top weight

RACE 2 SURGESS...SMALL...2-9/3-12//4-11/8...CAN COVER 9....pace very slow

RACE 3 NEW ROSE WOOD...BIG...1-5//10-2///4-6/3...BEST BET OF THE DAY ...CAN CONSIDER A TOKEN COVER BET ON 5...pace slow

RACE 4 FAMOUS THAN U...MEDIUM...5-11/1-3//10///2-4...pace very slow

RACE 5 ALL ELUSIVE...MEDIUM...1-10/ 5-8//3/4-9...CAN CONSIDER COVER ON 10 FOR VALUE...pace slow

RACE 6 ZAC POWER...MEDIUM....9-7/8//12///4-6/10...pace very slow

RACE 7 ESTEEM POWER...BIG ...5-1/6-7/2// 4...pace very slow

RACE 8 DEEFOUR...SMALL...2-6/9//7/// 5-4/1 ...LONGSHOT OF THE DAY...CAN COVER 6...pace very slow

RACE 9 ARANDA...MEDIUM...8-5/7//11-10/6-1...BEST VALUE BET OF THE DAY...CAN COVER 5...pace slow

RACE 10 BIG RED...BIG...1-3/5-7// 4///6-8...SOLID BIG BET...pace good to fast

RACE 11 SECRETS...MEDIUM...6-10//7///9-3/4-11...MUST COVER EQUAL OR STRONGLY ON 10...pace fast to very fast

15 January 2010

In the internet/print media tipster challenge Danny Khoo has blazed in the lead with 13 wins. Starstatz is trailing in joint 6th with 10 wins. At present my posting is rather late and just before the start of the 1st race. The only practical way to track this blog is by mobile internet access.

For the time being I am giving the full 7 selections free to get some interest on this blog. At a later stage we will be charging for full access. Do be cautious today as the card looks more promising on Sunday.

My selections are :-

RACE 1 RAPIDO BOY...SMALL 4-7// 5-1/3///10-12...CAN COVER 7

RACE 2 MARY'S SUCCESS...SMALL ...12-9/1//3///6-7/ 8...CAN COVER 9 OR 1

Startstatz Racing 08 January 2010

It is heartening to note that former Champion Media Tipster in Season 2000 and 2003 , Mr Danny Khoo of the Newpaper is leading the internet/print media tipsters with 9 wins including some at good odds after 2 days of racing. My tipster tip for this season Xiu Fang is in joint 2nd with 8 wins with Punters Way. There are some interesting faces in 3rd on 7 wins : Ma Chao and Zheng Qiang of Wan Bao and Hui Liang from Shin Min. In general the Chinese press have had a good start. The broadcasting team have Andrew Frost on 7 wins. Craig Evans on 6 wins, Lao Wang on 4 wins and Ma Hui on 3 wins. The worst of the media tipsters is on 2 wins. Former jockey SH Chan from blog site Sagacity is on 5 wins. It is interesting to note that some readers from the Winner21 are doing better than some of the pros with SK Chan on 5 wins, Vin Vin on 4 wins and Sming on 4 wins. I lookf forward to post Mr Winterman's and Michael Maxworthy's scores when they have a few runs under theit belt.Starstatz is on 6 wins and trailing the field

Today's races are rather intriguing with similar selections from Race 3 to Race 8 and expect more than 50 % of these favourites will oblige. Due to time constraints I shall post today without minimal comments. CONCENTRATE ON THE RACES MARKED "BIG " IN CONFIDENCE FOR
FOR A FRUITFUL NIGHT OF RACING

RACE 1 SMALL...CASINO ROYALE...3-6/1// 2 WATCH STABLEMATE 6 CLOSELY AND CONSIDER COVER BET

RACE 2 MEDIUM... NOT MY FAULT... 6 // 4 / 3 -12

RACE 3 BIG...ABEYANT... 3/// 14/ 7-13// UNDERCLASSED HORSE IN LOWLY COMPANY...THE PATINACK NAME IS ENOUGH TO IMPRESS ME

RACE 4 MEDIUM...ETERNAL TRAVELLER....6-1/9-11...WEAKEST OF THE FAVOURITES TODAY...MIGHT GET PIPPED INTO 2ND PLACE

RACE 5 SMALL...ACE AMADEUS ......1-6/ 2-4 A LITTLE TRICKY WITH FRIENDLY EX NBR 2 TO LAXON WITH NBR 6 IN THE FIELD. HIS 21 SEP 08 SF CAN TAKE THIS FIELD BUT IS A LITTLE OLD FOR MUCH IMPACT. VITALICO WAS IMPRESSIVE IN HIS LAST WIN

RACE 6 MEDIUM...WHATTODO...4 12/9-8...LOST TO CLASSY SLITHER

RACE 7 BIG ...NOBLE MANOR...3// 4-2///5 SLIGHT CHANGE FROM ORIGINAL 7NAPS POSTING...BEST BET OF THE NIGHT

RACE 8 BIG ...TUMBULGUM...6-8/1-9

RACE 9 SMALL ..MEN AT WORK...1-6 / 4-2 ......CAN CONSIDER COVER ON 6 FOR VALUE FOR A LONGSHOT

STARSTATZ RACING - 03 JANUARY 2010

I did par for my personal targets with a 4 wins / 3 placings from 10 races on opening day ie a win strike rate of 40% and and a win place rate of 70%. My actual win target is a more modest 30 % to 35% for the season..It was noteworthy I achieved my target of higliting the main chances with a no miss score of all the winners from 4 selections(all winners actually came from my top 3 selections. Off course for the media challenge only my 1st selection will count towards the tally but if scratched my 2nd selection will count. Even if you do not like my 1st selections because of short odds or a change in factors you can still find value or longshot gems in my remaing selections as proven on the 1st day. Let's see if I can continue this dual target of doing well on 1st selections to keep up my challenge on the readers while assisting the reader in higlighting the main chances.

Kudos to all the 6 print media tipsters(details mentioned below in copy of 7n aps posting) who achieved a 50% strike. I apologise for not doing my profile on opening day but my new blog is still a work in progress and improvements will be done in the coming weeks to make this a premier racing blog(not just with good top 5 scores in the media challenge) in Singapore with an abundance of masterclass professional guidance and information that will educate the mindset of a punter into a judicious horse investor just as my mentor Mr Benny Ortega has proven in his retirement investments in horse racing. Horse racing is a akin to the stock market but albeit a slightly more sophisticated animal. With a sound methodology and use of handicapping tools , dilligent research (not just the last 6 runs) Horse racing can prove to be more fruitful than 4D and Toto as the winning chances are better if one knows what they are doing or are guided by a more experienced. I am constantly trying to improve myself by reading more books on scouring the various internet websites for better insights into racing. I hope I can build this website to be the last stop before you go to the races. Today should be another good day for most tipsters with some races having only 2 serious chances to consider.I will use the 2 strokes ie // method to separate the serious chances. So concentrate on playing only the horses on the left of the 2 strokes. Here is a list of my selections for the main chances. For the complete list of 7 for exotic bet play and late mail service(by email/sms or twitter) do drop me an email enquiry and I will respond. My email address is www.insiders111@yahoo.com.sg Do concentrate maked medium or big as an indication of the confidence level.

RACE 1 OPEN RACE....EVEN MY TOP 4 CHOICES MAY NOT WIN..SMALL ...OBLIVION...2-11/ 4-5//...PACE VERY SLOW...I HAVE NO DOUBTS THAT 2 CAN TAKE THE DISTANCE AND IS THE MOST CLASSY HORSE IN THIS FIELD BUT 11 HAS THE BEST HR AND SF

RACE 2 BIG...ESTEEM POWER...7/6-2// 1...PACE VERY SLOW...CLEAR ON HANDICAP RATINGS AND SPEED FIGURE

RACE 3 MEDIUM...DORADO JOY...8-1 / 4 // 6...PACE SLOW...BEST LONGSHOT OF THE DAY...SUGGEST EQUAL OR MEDIUM COVER ON 1 AS CONTRARY TO MARKET OPINION I AM CONFIDENT OF 1'S STAYING BLOODLINES UP TO 2000M THROUGH HIS SIRE'S DAM AND DAMSIRE EVEN THOUGH HIS SIRE AND DAM ARE MILERS..DORADO JOY HAS THE BEST HANDICAP RATINGS AND SPEED FIGURE BUT IS TRAINED BY ROOKIE TRAINER IN HIS 1ST SEASON. 4 IS THE CURRENT MARKET FAVOURITE AND CAN STILL WIN WITH A BETTE BARRIER DRAW COMPARED TO 1...SHOULD BE CLOSE
RACE 4 BIG...DENNYCRANE...1-11 /7 // 4...PACE SLOW...BEST VALUE BET OF THE DAY...THE ADDITION OF BLINKERS WOULD HELP IMPROVE HIS WINNING CHANCES

RACE 5 BIG...SWAGGER...3-10 / 2 // 9...PACE GOOD TO FAST...10 CAN UPSET IF PACE IS HOT AND THE APPRENTICE CLAIM MIGHT JUST HELP FOR HIM TO RUN CLOSE OR PPOSSIBLY UPSET...TOKEN COVER BET RECOMMEND ON 10 BUT I STILL PREFER 3

RACE 6 SMALL .. BOMBARDIER...3-5/ 8 // 1...PACE GOOD TO FAST...FAIRLY OPEN RACE AS MY 1ST CHOICE HAS BAD BARRIER DRAW BUT IS MOST CLASSY HORSE IN THIS RACE

RACE 7 SMALL...THAT'S CASH 10-5 / 6 // 11...PACE VERY SLOW...TOKEN COVER ON 5 IF CAUTIOUS

RACE 8 BIG...LAMBORGHINI FLAME ...4-7 / 6 // 3...PACE FAST...BEST CLASS HORSE BUT 7 HAS BETTER HR AND SF

RACE 9 MEDIUM...ESCAMONDA...2-7/ 3// 1...PACE VERY SLOW...CAN UPGRADE TO BIG IF DESIRED AS CONFIRMED BY TRACK REPORT IN GOOD CONDITION

RACE 10 MEDIUM...DIPLOMATIC STRIKE .4-5 / 2 // 1...PACE SLOW...4 HAS BEST SF , 5 HAS BEST HANDICAP AND HAS WON A GRP 3 1100M RACE IN AUSTRALIA ON YIELDING TRACK ...CONSIDER 5 STRONGLY AS EQUAL COVER IF IT RAINS

RACE 11 BIG ...COLLECT THE CASH...4 / 7 // 5 / 9......PACE GOOD TO FAST...BEST BET OF THE DAY..

Here is a copy of my 7naps posting.

SINGAPORE Race 9 Kranji Stakes A – 1600M long course B – Stakes $125,000
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
What a great start to the new season for the print media tipsters with no less than 6 tipsters scoring 5 wins each. (50% strike rate) . They were Hui Liang, Zheng Liang and Xiu Fang from Shin Min, Punters Way , Danny Khoo from The Newpaper and Zheng Qiang from Wan Bao. Both the internet media tipsters Starstatz (yours truly) and ex – jockey Mr HS Chan (from Sagacity) had a more modest 4 wins. It is good to see Danny Khoo among the leading pack again. I predict that the Media(both print and internet will be more competitive) Tipster Challenge will be inspired by the English Premier League and be more competitive this year and the winner would have to break the 30% strike rate to be Champion and they would need to break my record of 240 wins to be the overall Media Champion Tipster. I can attribute the fine start to the new broom sweeps clean syndrome to the new season as we will all start from an even slate or perhaps the bosses have pushed for a better result this season. Whatever the reason may be I can only state the maxim that transparency (make the scores public) and more competition will raise the bar on standards least we become complacent...this will encourage the tipsters to do better. I do hope the STC Broadcasting joins in the fray and I shall keep track of the scores in my new blog at www.starstatzracing.blogspot.som . I shall limit my comments on the full card media challenge to a monthly update and concentrate on my 7naps posting.
Despite my cautious start I jumped well and started with a winner on 7naps. Some people may comment it is only a $9 favourite but my reply is that as tipsters we are obliged to look for the winner for our readers...no matter the odds. Even if the favourite wins we can find value in using the favourite as our banker for the other exotic bets and when appropriate have the courage in our convictions to pick the value bet or longshot at the appropriate time. To play favourites or to play wild longshots in every race as a system is a fast track to disaster.. When reading 7naps you may not agree on my 1st choice but I do assure with the professional data provided you the reader can get better results than me due to last minute information on body weight of horses and condition in paddock. As an example in my blog on 01 January I had all the winners(some at pretty good value) in my sights within my top 3 from 4 selections.. As an example if you were not keen on the odds on favourite in Race 3 you could have played my 2nd choice Master Key which paid handsomely at $59//$13. Use my top choices as a guide before making your final decision as my 1st selection may turn up on race day grossly overweight!
OVERVIEW
In a recent televised interview with Escamonda's Trainer Mr Shaw he seemed to downplay Escamonda's chances by indicating he is not fully ready while not discounting the possibility of the horse winning. . The media tipsters are not convinced and most of us have made him our 1st choice. It is not indicated in the main media publications but this is not a replica of the unfortunate Jabal Tarik who won his Group 1 race at a longer distance. The books don't show it as it was not in his last 6 runs but Escamonda has won a Group 2 race at 1600M. I did not manage to find out if he won 1st up or not(if you have this information do upgrade and go for a big bet!. However with a strike rate of almost 50% I am willing to take my chances with his 6 wins from 13 starts record. His recent performances in trials are mixed but mainly favourable. I am no expert on looks but his galloping action in “Winning Workouts “l ooked good and the horse's ears were pricked and alert. With his Mr Prospector bloodlines.he can handle a wet track if rain falls as expected in the afternoon If .my research is correct he is not just a AWT horse but has won on turf tracks in Argentina.
The pace of the race is very slow with Escamonda the sole front runner with his stablemates Mr Line and Win In jumping next as on pace runners. They will provide a covering job and will make it difficult for horses to psss this wall and they will have to go at least 3 wide before the home turn to have a decent look at the front runner. . Off the rest the closer Teskara will jump last with the rest of the off pace runners in between. Being a 4 year old this is not an over the hill Group1 winner at 2400M but a genine Derby prospect. Even if we take the Trainers comments wholeheatedly a half fit Class act is better than an average class 1 galloper as Group 1 races are markedly superior in standard.
If you find Escamonda too risky and unknown I would suggest you go for Breadwinner rather than Teskara but the winner should be from this trio. As Breadwinners HR and SF have turned in his favour despite his last loss to Teskara by a head and is better of by 5.5 kg for that defeat.. As an alternative go for win only on Escamonda as he will win if ready.. You the reader have the option of deciding after checking their respective conditions in the paddock.
In order my selections are 7-2//3/1///5-4
I am facing a software glitch so I shall skip the handicap data for this week but provide the form report only.

STARSTARSTATZ RACING - 01 JANUARY 2010

WHO CAN BE THE CHAMPION TIPSTER FOR 2010? The answer ...YOU the reader!
WHY? You can be because you can make a decision 5 minutes before the race after taking the body weights of horses and assessing the condition of the horses in the paddock and taking into account any changes in the condition of the track due to weather or track bias for the day. We have one proviso for you to attain this goal...read the Starstatz Racing blog and be empowered by the guidance before making your decision. I shall try my best to post one hour before start of races for the day races and 2.00pm to 3.00pm for the night races.

Who is this new kid (old man actually)on the block? I was trained by the Emeritus Chief Editor of Racing Guide, Mr Benny Ortega who is still making big bucks through his judicious horse racing investments. You too can follow in my footsteps by using Starstatz handicapping methodologies(benchmarked and inspired from Benny of course) as I managed to gatecrash(my media is internet which Winner21 unfortunately accepts only print media) the media tipster challenge and beat all the print media tipsters and the nearest challenger by a comfortable margin of 5 wins. Here are the results for season 2009:-
1st... 240 wins(243-3)/241 placings from 810 races...unofficial "OPEN CATEGORY(print and internet media) media tipster champion...STARSTATZ
2nd ...235 wins...Racing Guide ...official print media champion tipster champion
3rd..231 wins....Xiu Fang from Shin Min...official Winner21 Challenge print media champion
4th 218 wins...Hui Liang from Shin Min
5th ...216 wins ...Punters Way
The rest are Tan Thean Loon(Newpaper) 205 wins, Larrry Foley(Newpaper) 199 wins,Ma Chao(Wan Bao) 196 wins, Zheng Liang(Shin Min) 196 wins, Danny Khoo (Newpaper) 190 wins, Zheng Qiang (Wan Bao) 188 wins,Winner 21 with 176 wins, Meng Yew (Wan Bao) 175 wins and Marc Tan (Newpaper 142 wins. I have not included the STC Broadcasting Team as I do not as yet have their tally or win strike rate. I would love to include people from Turf Guide and HS Chan from Sagacity blog if they can email their pre race selections to include in this season's tally. If I have left anybody out please drop me an email at insiders111@yahoo.com.sg.

My tip for this year(read my 7naps column for further detrails).. study the top 3 tipsters and for solid track work analysis have a good look at Andrew Frost and Tan Thean Loon for input. In the course of the season I will not only provide possible plays for win/place (for full 7 selections or genuine late mail service you would have to subscribe my email/sms/ or twitter service which I will introduce in the 1st Quarter 2010) but also empower and educate and upgrade the punter to a serious horse investor with educational handicapping tools and nuggets of information for better analysis before making a selection.. I will try to make this the Premiere Racing Blog for Singapore Racing but I will face stiff competition from Larry Foley from Kranjiracing.com and HS Chan from Winner21/Sagacity who already have a headstart on me. In the following weeks I will highlight my best efforts for season 2009 which include the record for Top Tipster of the the day which I hold jointly with Michael Maxworthy from the STC Broadcasting Team with 9 wins from a card of 12 races on 02 August when Saimee scored his 7 winners in one day. I also managed to score with Quartets of $20,000 plus and $10,000 plus using my 1st selection as a banker in combination with 6 other selections. For those who might cast doubts on the authencity of my season 2009 scores I hope this blog will restore their confidence that I won comfortably with 5 wins to spare from Racing Guide.

Here are my selections for 01 January races(please note concentrate on the left of the 2 strokes ie // for serious play). I would also recommend to invest in the races marked "big "or "medium "in confidence

THIS IS A COMPLETE SAMPLE OF A FULL RACE ANALYSIS AS EXTRACTED FROM www.7naps.com where I am the Singapore resident pundit

SINGAPORE Race 8 Class 1 – 1200M long course A – Stakes $125,000
BACKGROUND INFORMATION.
My new year resolution is to be more timely and concise in my postings and more judicious in my use of the X 2 specials. There will be some changes for Singapore Nap with the addition of some features and I will be dropping some old ones. Let's hope you like the new format .My final 7naps tally for the season was 22 wins/ 37 placings from 87 selections ...a poor win rate of 25.29% and a decent win/place rate of 67.82%
It is an enigma as I was top performing 7naps tipster in season 2008 but the worst in season 2009. In case the 7naps readers are wondering ...let me offer an explanation.
In season 2008 I had a later posting time where I had access to a top notch track watcher but with an earlier post time in season 2009 I had to adjust and as a consequence I suffered the 2nd choice syndrome where a number of my 2nd choices won at good odds. I can only console the readers that respectable high place rate did not cause them to incur too severe a loss by following my selections avidly. With a later posting time for my full card selection I managed a tally of 240(243-3 for late submissions) wins/ 241 placings from 810 selections for a win rate of 240 from 807 actual selections at 29.74% or win/place rate of 59.75%. 2nd was Racing Guide at 235 wins, Xiu Fang from Shin Min at 231 wins. Who is actually the top tipster? Well let me address the issue ...Xiu Fang is recognised as the Top Tipster on the Winner21.com tally while Racing Guide is the official print media Top Tipster while I consider myself the unofficial Top Tipster in the “OPEN CATEGORY” ie Print and Internet Media . A few
readers from Winner21 have cast doubts on my score ...my reply is that copies of my postings are sent to senior STC officials and all the Press and weekly updates are given for scores to be verified including 18 December where I had a zero score and moreover I had 5 wins to spare from my nearest challenger. I had 2 peak months with scores of 35.21% in August ( I still hold the joint record of 9 winners in one day from a card of 12 races jointly with Michael Maxworthy from the STC Broadcasting Team)and 35.0% in October offset by weak performances of 23.94% in February and 21.57% in December. For the past season in my full card challenge I also managed 18 value bets paying $30 and above for a win. For the new season I will concentrate on the 7naps performances and leave the full card comments in my new blog. I am looking for volunteers to do research statistics in lieu of getting my full card selection service. Do drop me an email if you are interested at www.insiders111@yahoo.com.sg
I predict that the Top 3 will fight it out again in the new season with me being 3rd
favourite based on my poor December form . However I am still confident of a Top 5 placing for the new season. My prediction...like the filly Vodka I think the female species will do better than the boys and outlast and outrun them in season 2010 as she closed the last day win 7 wins(some at good odds...Congragulations Xiu Fang!). For the readers my advice is to study the Top 3 Tipsters closely and you the reader with access to last minute information can do better than us.
I shall be providing a new form report for this season to go with the Handicap Data. If time permits I shall endeavour to provide a full report as a sample for those who subscribe to my new subscription email or sms or twitter service with full card selections that I will be providing sometime in the 1st Quarter.
OVERVIEW OF RACE
The pace will be slow with Why Be the sole front runner with 3 on pace runners pressing(5-3-6) and the rest of the off pace runners trailing. The pace will suit Why Be the best but after the bleeding attack he suffered in Nov 08 he is not the same horse as he was before his fruitless trip to HKG. His best performance since on 13 Sep 09 pale in comparison to his pre HKG form and putting into perspective his return to form in his last start 2nd to Noble Manor makes it tough for him to outlast and outrun this tough field of sprightly young guns. Moreover he is facing his old nemesis Capablanca who has a better recent HR(Handicap Rating) and SF (Speed Figure) done on 24 April. Ignore Capablanca last 3 runs which were poor as Capablanca is noted for racing well 1st up or when fresh. . I hope STC interviews are more successful with highlight on more winners this season. In the past season their strike rate with Bartschiger's horses have been pathetic...let's hope a new season brings in new habits and I will be happy for them if Capablanca wins and will not be disappointed if he fails and runs a place. Keep him safe in your calculations especially if his body weight is around or close to 486 kg as unlike Why Be I think there is still some fight left in the old warrior. I will be disappointed if Capablanca runs unplaced and creates a feeling of stale red herrings again. I believe in giving Capablanca an honest chance of an upset as he has won 1st up and won twice after coming back from a break and was unplaced only once after a break. Noble Manor's recent trial was impressive and he won convincingly without being urged and based on that I shall stick with him.
Let it be said that Noble Manor does have the best recent HR but not the best overall HR in this race. Even Perfect Sky (best SF in this race but handicapped by poor HR due to the terms of this race and he is running 4 kg underscaled). The terms of this race are unfavourable to Amadeus Mozart(2kg underscaled) and New Target (5.5kg underscaled). An example New Target is forced to carry 50kg when his CR (Central Rating) is 29 points below Why Be at 109 compared to New Target's CR is 80 which makes him badly outclassed in this field. If you are looking for value do cover a token on Capablanca on the proviso of a good body weight but stick with Noble Manor unless there is a severe drop or increase. in body weight. The long course straight will make this seem like a 1400M race and that will suit Noble Manor who has won at 1600M
I have a medium level of confidence on Noble Manor taking on this moderate lot with the numbers in order as 3-2/6//5-1///. If you are playing the exotics use both 3 and 2 as bankers and you can take a risk by leaving out 4 and 7 completely. You can also use 3 as the sole banker and 2-6 as key horses on the 2nd line for the exotics.
I prefer Noble manor despite the short odds but for value you can cover Capablanca if he is at his ideal body weight . If Capablanca weight is off then I would suggest to upgrade Noble Manor to a big bet.
HANDICAP DATA in order of HR.(new feature: form stars :3 stars = excellent form, 2stars = good form , 1 star average form. X = poor form...recommend emphasis on data of last 3 months as more accurate and older form only as reference)
