GoogleWith the last day of racing to go Racing Guide chalked up 3 wins to go on 253 wins while Starstatz Racing chalked up a single win to be on 235 wins

I earnestly hope for the sake of racing and the survival of the tabloid Vixtory Trail that they do something vigorous and change the menu on offer for next season. If they continue on their present course without any significant change for next season then I believe they will remain a distant 3rd both in terms of sales and tipping performance in relation to Racing Guide and Punters Way. Unlike most SPH ventures they will continue to bleed red ink for a long time before they can turn the corner(if ever at all). The people in charge should pause and take a deep breath and review the results so far. If sales are flat it is obvious something needs to be done to change the tide. In general I would give this advice to race publications it is not good enough to fill in with a journalist who writes good articles but seconded from other sports like soccer to write in depth articles on Cup races. In general they should improve their existing standards by hiring horse racing experts either in handicapping or assessing condition of horses in track reports. The publications are short changing the race goer by bringing in sub standard work with strike rates as bad as the average race goer with scores of less than 20% over the season. If the scores of these journalists are not tracked I pose the question ...where is the credibility and accountability to the reader? For next season I urge the STC to set an example by making a tally on the strike rate of all their presenters and journalists including the articles on the advertorials in the Srtaits Times. With no tracking of strike rates mediocrity and complacency will set in and they will not take pride in their work.

Racing Guide have done well (not just their strike rates) in their innovations over the past season and I urge Punters Way and Victory Trail to follow their lead and introduce new information and data for the benefit of the readers and not do what they have been doing for the past 5 seasons with no improvements at all.

I also strongly urge the STC computer data team to use this 2 week December break to set their house in order by getting all the missing weight data and missing sectional times corrected. It is embarassing that Racing Guide and Punters Way can get it right but the official source has missing weight data of recent races within less than 3 months!

With exotic bet investments in 9 races including 7 joker bets I managed to strike 1 trio of $8 one tierce in Race 2 at$27, one tierce in Race 4 at $3895 and one tierce in Race 6 at $830 and one quartet in Race 2 at $68. We spent a total of $220 on trio , $680 on tierce and $2040 on quartets. We actually bagged a quartet of $7325 in Race 6 if we had played one banker box with 6 selections but we taggged it a joker exotics bet thus leaving the 4th horse out of the equation so it was not counted in my tally .Nevertheless we managed a return of $4828 from an investment of $2940 this howing a nett profit for the day of $1888. Our overall nett profit now stands at a respectable $10783

Generally it has been a mediocre season for Starstatz Racing and we look forward to new challenges next season. The only highlights were our top media tipster performance of 9 winners in a day in a card of 12 races which we shared the accolade with Michael Maxworthy and our record breaking Quartet albeit with the advantage of 3 additional picks but we did make it an official bet by officially investing $240 which could have shown an embarrassing loss for us..

We urge the organisers of the Winner21 challenge to change the format to dividend based next year as a more equitable contest for all concerned. Tipping is not all about tipping favourites only or outsiders only as a methodology but to decide on the merits of each indvidual race. We have shown our versatility and relative consistency despite having a below par season but we still ended up a strong 2nd despite trailing in Racing Guide's slipstream. We will learn from our mistakes and hope to give Racing Guide a good run for their money and look forward to matching my wits with the new kid on the block and test their tipping mettle. I do hope they take part in the Winner21 challenge as well as the STC tipsters as I find it tedious tracking their scores and will have my hands full keeping track of my exotic bet plays. After removing the cloak of anonymity from the flame throwers plus my outstanding profits on my tierce/quartet investments ...The current matinee show currently playing on Starstatz Racing is called "Silence of the lambs"...as the flamers have suddenly lost their voices in harmony singing the same tune. I am not blocking them entirely from commenting. The only difference is that they have to register before they can comment.

My bold experiment with official exotic bets had a lucky break and on 05 December we added 3 tierce/ quartet of $218/$1003 in Race 3, $71/$576 in Race 9 and $493/$1575 in Race 10.in additiuon to the record breaking $16727 quartet.

on 03 December. The nett profit on 03 December was $15925 and on 05 December it was $2795. The grand total to date is now a nett profit of $17,786

Inspired by the good start I will now modify my bets into standard medium trio for all races with 4 horses box for a budget of $12. Big trio will consist of 5 horses box for a budget of $20. This shall apply to all races as a standard bet.

The next bet will now be test tierce and test quartet with 1 banker and 3 horse box ie 1/2-3-4/2-3-4 for tierce at a budget of $12 and 1/2-3-4/2-3-4/ 2-3-4 for a budget of $24. The profits from the previous small bets will credited into this bet type as reference benchmark

The new medium tierce will be 1 x 4 x 7 ($48)and big tierce will be as previously 1 x 6 x 6($60)

The new small budget quartet will be 1 x4 x4 x4 for a budget of $48

A new category called moderate quartet with combination of 1 x 5 x 5 x5 with a budget of $120 will be created

The medium budget will now be modified with a new combination of 1 x 4 x 6 x 6 with a budget of $160

The big budget quartet will remain the same as 1 x 6 x 6 x6 with a budget of $240.

For next week I will possibly introduce joker bets with 2 bankers. It should be noted that if I was to manage a Horse racing R.E.I.T or horse investment consultancy I will not be indulging in all these bet types. I will probably invest in one big tierce and one bu=ig quartet with an additional bet in confident races tagged big/invest with one additional bet type in quartet /tierce categories. The format of betting will remain the same as last week ...NO BETS WILL BE PLACED ON RACES TAGGED SMALL IN CONFIDENCE.

STARSTATZ RACING has officially scored a record braking Tierce /Quartet of $1458($60 official investment) and $16727($240 official investment with Better Be The One as banker and Future Baby,Northern Lion and Tuxedo Moon making the top 4)in Race 5 (on 03 December 2010. My small budget of $24 and medium budget of $80 failed to score. The fact is the I officially chose to invest in a total; of 8 races and lost in all the races but still showed an overall profit. My 7 selections have stirred a lot of controversy and its fair share of detractors. Of course I have an unfair advantage over the standard 4 selection format and lazy publications still stubbornly sticking to the 3 selection format. My point is that whether you use 5 , 6 or 7 selections(according to your budget) is that playing with only 4 selections leaves the player with no room for error. With at least 5 selections you can still strike the exotics even if one of your selections fails or decides to take a day off for political long term strategic reasons. To prove it was not a fluke is that in season 2009 I set a record breaking Quartet of $25870 and included a bonus of a $3510 tierce. The only difference is that this time it was an official bet but previously it was only a claim that was struck with Big Momoko winning on 21 August 2009 using Big Momoko as banker and using a box on the remaining 6 horses that included Palmston, Sacred and Shen Wong with a budget of $240. My claim to fame was that it was in an email sent to all the senior STC officials and a representative from each official race publication and the Press before the start of Races. This time it is record on my blog at www.starstazracing.blogspot.comand can be verified through my blog archive.

My official investment for tierce(based on 1 banker box with remaining 6 selections ie 1#2-32-4-5-6-7) is $60 x 7 races plus $40 (9 was a late scratching in Race 1)for a total investment of $460. Returns : $1458 . Nett Profit is $999

My official small bet quartet(based on 1 banker box with the next 3 horses ie 1#2-3-4) at $24 per race x 8 races had nil returns for a nett loss of $192. please note if there is a late scratching on the banker than the bet is declared null and void. However if there is a late scratching for one of the remaining horses that the order would move up and the missing horse will be replaced by the next horse in order

My official medium quartet(based on 1 banker with 2 key horses on the 2nd line and the remaining 6 horses other than the banker will be placed on the 3rd and 4th lines ie 1#2-3/2-3-4-5-6-7/2-3-4-5-6-7) of $80 per race x 7 races plus $48(9 was a late scratching in Race 1) had nil returns. My nett loss is $608

My official big bet for quartet was(based on 1 banker box with remaining 6 horses ie 1#2-3-4-5-6-7) of $240 per race X 7 races plus $120(9 was a late scratching in race 1) for a total investment of $1800.Returns : $16727.nett Profit is $14927.

I got off to a flying start and had a couple of near misses that did not count officially but I hope the readers had benefited with good returns on their individual investments on tierce/trio albeit on a more modest budget. For the transparency of profit or loss I will continue to tally only the official bets in each category with a grand total of profit or loss on all bets. My official nett profit is a healthy $15126. This official score I trust will be my best answer to detractors who poured scorn and cold water on my 7 selections and and liken it to BIG SWEEP NUMBERS. I have never suggested to my readers to play 7 numbers box for an outlay of $1680 but I have always emphasised that my tally previously was based on one banker with a box on the remaining 6 selections and to play according to your budget to use 4 (not recommended) ,5 , 6 or 7 selections. Only now I am demarcating the bets officially and tracking the tally to see if I can show a profit.

The purpose of this exercise is to show that our smart investments with diligent research and superior methodologies is a much better way to invest than lucky numbers which seem lucky only after results are known or based on favourite colour of jockey silks. In time when the racing market matures I hope the Government will allow the introduction of licensed Horse Racing Reit or Horse Racing Investment Club for members only to make investments guided by a Mentor or Guru or experienced Horse racing Consultant much like the Property Reit in the Housing Market. Of course strict s=conditions have to be applied with high paid up capital and certain trading limits per race and per day basis

Just a note on close misses that did not count...in Race 1 my 1^st selection flopped but my 2^nd selection won...if I had put my 2^nd selectionas as my 1^st pick I would have bagged the tierce of $153 and quartet of $5176 and in Race 8 My top 3 made the tierce of $1143 but it did not score as it was in the wrong order(a $12 box tierce would have made the order irrelevant) as it is only counted if my banker wins. Although these are misses I am trying to make a point... a selection made by a exotic bet specialist backed by good research and sound methodoolgies like use of handicap data, pace of race analysis, bloodstock analysis and to a lesser extent speed figure analysis is much better than picking lucky numbers of favourite colours of jockey silks

Some publications are still stubbornly sticking to the practice of 3 horse selection per race for all their tipsters and providing Quartet advice of 4 selections from only one tipster. Are they suffering from space constraints? I think not! The New Paper used to do 3 selections but revamped and improved it to a 4 horse selection this year. I hope the rest of the publications follow this example and move on instead of dwelling on out of date practices to cater for the greater good and interests of their readers! How on earth are you going to strike a Quartet with only 3 selection? Are these publications catering to the whims and idiosyncrasies and fancies of the individual editors despite feedback from the public and this column in particular?. Are these publications not supposed to help the reader towards a winning day at the races. Since STC has offered the quartet bet shouldn't they are least offer a minimum of 4 selections?. How is the standard of local racing going to improve if this state of affairs continues unchecked. The Vice Presidents in charge of these editors are just as culpable for allowing these editors so much power that they continue running it like a fiefdom.

With 5 race days to go , Racing Guide scored 2 wins and Starstatz Racing scored 1 win and the battle for top internet/print media tipster is all over bar the shouting. Only the winner21 challenge will go to the wire. The leader board now reads Racing Guide on 244 wins, Starstatz Racing on 228 wins and Xiu Fang is 3^rd on 216 wins...the current leader in the Winner21 Challenge.

I had 5 invest bets that failed for a nett loss of $25 My total invest bet loss is now at $131 ($534 from $665 investment) or R.O.I of 0.80. I had one win from my single VAL-bet at $23 for a nett profit of $18 . It was the 2^st time my VAL -bets showed a profit My return is $72 from 45 bets or investment of $225 or R.O.I. of 0.32

There was an invest bet on Singapore Nap that failed and the tally is now at minus 2.4 or $103 returns from an outlay of $115 and the . Singapore Nap VAL-BET remains at nil returns from 3 bets.or minus 3.

In previous posts up to November the clock on this blog was set on minus 8 hours G.M.T time. From 03 December I have reset the computer clock based on Plus 8 hours GMT time. My basic computer knowledge is poor so I hope the readers will forgive me for this oversight and I do apologize for any inconvenience caused.

For a consultancy fee I am willing to teach my members the theories on compilation of handicap data and will be willing to share this data and provide advice on race days for a fee to be agreed upon. Other subjects include how to do a simple Speed Map, how to compile speed figures, where to research for bloodstock analysis, Where to get information on how to see condition of horses in the paddock, the compilation of sectional times based on the 1st 400M and the last 400M, how to compile form reports without hiring a professional track watcher. Trainer patterns eg Marcus Basil to date has not prepared any of his horses to win 1st up while Freedman has done it quite often as seen in the Race 5 example on 03 December with "Better Be The One " who I believe will win a Cup race soon provided he does not meet Better Than Ever and Rocket Man on WFA terms. He can win a Cup race if the handicap terms are favourable or when these 2 are overseas and not earmarked for the same races. He is by the Golden Slipper Sire" More Than Ready"(whose progeny have continued to dominate the Golden Slipper races in recent years) and will adapt easily to the turf as well and should be useful as a Sprinter over the short sprints and he has the speedy Snippets(sire of Pins and Grandsire of Waikato). His personal record has not reflected it but given time he may extend up to 1400M and possibly 1600M given his Southern Halo Grandsire bloodline. As a 4 Year Old he may eventually grow to give Rocket Man a run for his money in the Kris Flyer Sprint next year and vie with Rocket Man for best local horse in this event.

Only the races tagged medium or big will count towards my exotic bet tally in the 4 categories of tierce bet, small quartet bet, medium quartet bet and big quartet as described above. If there is further rain watch for the on pace / front running track bias . However if the weatherman is spot on there will be no rain today. Observe the early races for any detectable track bias especially in slow pace races. The pace factor was crucial in Race 7 on 03 December won by Escamonda and the 2 sole front runners(the other was Superb) made the forecast combination for that race and poor Rosie aka New Rose Wood got going too late when the die was cast and only did her best work when the outcome was settled. Well we can't win them all! I can only console myself with this official tally of this theoretical exotic bet. If the rain stays away as expected do increase your bets if you are showing a profit as this will be a good day for serious horse investments

I have received some flak from my detractors like Desmond Tang , the Poly Lecturer and Horses'Mouth aka MR Zhong aka from a racing publication(but too terrified to reveal which one) regarding my use of 7 horses.

Let me recap :- only the 1st pick is used for the internet/print media challenge unless there is a scratching then the 2nd pick will count towards the tally. For the record Racing Guide is on 242 wins and Starstatz Racing is in a comfortable 2nd position with 227 and Xiu Fang is in 216 and supposedly Premier publication is on 203 wins a good 24 wins behind my after burner.I have been labelled nowhere compared to the other publications but save for Racing Guide I have asked them repeatedly what is their yardstick of measurement and they cannot give me a decent reply.

To address this particular issue of 7 selections despite my repeated explainations which my detractors are still unwilling to accept. My reason is that you cannot attack a quartet with 3 selections which some Mandarin papers are still

adamant on sticking to despite my feedback. My question ...how can a reader strike a quartet with only 3 selections? Even with 4 selections I find it very difficult as it means there is no room for error and despite making only one mistake my chance of striking the quartet is gone. Hence my introducation of 7 selections :- always using the 1st pick as the banker and the rest according to your budget as a guidance. I sincerely believe that these detractors with their so called lucky numbers are always lucky after the results are known and never before the race starts. These selections are meant for the rookie horseplayer to follow blindly of for the experienced to make last minute adjustments due to state of track, scratchings or last minute severe drop or increase in horse body weight. The home work is already done for you eliminating the horses whose pedigree is unsuited for the race distance or because the horse has a poor handicap rating etc.

For the remaining 6 race days for the season I shall indulge in calculating whether my 7 selections make money or not using this format for assessment. I shall place a standard bet on races tagged medium or big in confidence and skip races marked small in confidence. I shall use for tierce the 1st pick as banker with a box on the remaining horses (in the event of scratching of my banker the bet is declared void but in the event of a scratching on the remaining horses the bet will be adjusted and calculated accordingly) ie the tierce bet will be 1#2-3-4-5-6-7 for a standard budget of $60. For the quartet i will have a standard small budget of $24 for 1#2-3-4 ,a medium budget of $80 for 1/2-3/2-3-4-5-6-7/2-3-4-5-6-7(ie my 2nd and 3rd picks will always be my key horses on the 2nd line) and a big budget of $240 for 1#2-3-4-5-6-7 . Of course i do not expect my readers to always follow so rigidly if they have the benefit of last minute data and they have the experience to amend slightly according to their respective individual budgets . Sometimes we will strike the tierce but the dividend may turn out to be less than $60 but it does happen and it comes with the territory.

I believe tonight will see mostly 1st favourites and 2nd favourites with only the odd longshot surprising . The pace of the race will be a strong deciding factor today with the rain helping front runners and on pace runners except in fast pace races. My selections are:-

The comment I quoted from reader Dan Chan on Singapore Nap on the 7naps website was incomplete. He said ..."after VT 2nd issue I conclude that it is essentially a Chinese Guide. Plenty of info in Chinese whereas briefly translated a little bit to English to make up the pages.
As I mentioned in my last posting that they badly need English Language proof-reader . Theese are a sample of their 20 odd mistakes from the 1st issue....

Victory Trail may be a good product in Mandarin but still needs to offer more information in English and all Mandarin information and tips should be given parity coverage or the English reader will feel he is short-changed and neglected. With all these feedback I hope to see some improvement in the forthcoming issues. I would expect these errors(typo or otherwise in a blog like Starstatz Racing"(being a one man operation is understandable) but a prestigious public listed company like SPH having a flagship publication with these glaring errors certainly raises some eyebrows ! I hope they will implement measures to rectify these teething problems to ensure mistakes do not come to the fore but are kept to a minimum!

In general Victory Trail has been a big dissapointment and I have at a glance tabulated more than 10 (closer to 20) grammar and spelling mistakes and they badly need a good English language proof reader. I shall address these mistakes in my future post. For a prestigious company like SPH to launch a flagship publication that is "light reading" (they have been so true to their word that I could not gleam much significant information that could help me attain a winning day at the races.. Their introduction may yet prove prophetic ..." a venture with no money to be made" and they have bandied about sire names with the newbie reader having no inkling who these sires are eg Alderbaran, Black Minnaloushe sounding like Greek to the readers who are newcomers. What is the point of naming the sires if the reader has no inkling what winning distances they are associated with. A redeeming factor may be their selections which are bold and intriguing especially their selection for the Gold Cup who I believe will do well. Their colour silks are presentable as well. This inaugural publication may have been a rush job to meet launch datelines but I hope to see better proof-reading and new offerings to guide the reader towards more winners. I heard that initial sales have been brisk due the curiosity factor but I believe this publication will need bith new offerings on the menu and strong promotions to become profitable. Unless there are improvements to its current format I strongly believe the editors at Racing Guide and Punters Way have no worries and Victory Trail will remain 3rd best for a long time to come which will be a disappointment considering the vast resources at their disposal! I feel Victory Trail would have been better off employing somebody like Larry Foley or just translate what is provided in the Newpaper by Andrew Frost. You would expect typos from a one man blog like Starstatz but these mistakes should be be kept to a minimum with greater effort. I will review their strike rate as well next week.

With the exception of Race 6 where I expect the pace to be fast and to a lesser extent Race 4 and Race 11 where I expect the pace to be good there will be a course(short course) advantage for front runners and on pace runners as I anticipate the pace to be slow or very slow in the other races. I expect to see a handful of winners doing it in a pillar to post style by leading all the way especially in fields with lone front runners. Look out for wet type sires like Spinning World ,Testa Rossa , Sadler Wells and Nureyev and AWT sires if the track is yielding or has some give in the going.

I do see on STC website STC has responded swiftly to last week's omission of Matthew Evans selections and his tips are on STC website. I do apologise for my posting on Singapore Nap regarding his absence. He will be a welcome edition to the tipping panel but Michael Maxworthy's boots are are little large to fill in. I expect Mr Evans to have an adjustment period but he should come good sooner rather than later. I expect Andrew Frost to hold his top position but Monsieur Evans should give the rest from the STC stable a good run for their money and I wouldn't be surprised he might run 2nd among them next year. I find most of his picks rather inspired with strong each way chances and he might even better my score today but I find his pick on Sean (Punters Way pick as well...I rate Maraeti as having better chances) rather baffling(I have made my share of baffling selections as well...remember Bay Of Island who ran last!). Another baffling choice is the omission of Alacarte baffling as well but I find his selection of Superb a serious threat. Overall Matthew Evans will be a great edition to the STC and I do enjoy his background research on the origin of the names of horses and and his race analysis which is informative and spot on. His race calling skills will be World Class with only a little run in time required . STC has done well and I believe Matthew has the potential to be better than some of the race presenters on HKGJC. Despite my slightly judgemental( I might yet be proven wrong ) comments I extend a warm welcome to Matthew(hope he can accept my compliments and feedback in good faith) to the Singapore tipping scene. Today is a mixed bag but do be cautious on races marked "small" but go solidly for the INVEST/VAL-BETS.

Racing Guide had 5 wins and breached the 200 mark with 201 wins while I had 2 wins and I am currently on 185 wins. Both of us are on course to break my last season's record of 240 wins and the likely figure is expected to be in the 250-260 range. The average of 20 wins per month is likely to be surpassed by a much higher score for this season. Do concentrate on the races marked medium and big .

I extend a warm welcome to Monsieur Matthew Jones and looking at his background should bring a breath of fresh air to Singapore Racing. Looking at his resume he looks as strong as Michael Maxworthy(big boots to fill in). It's about time STC start an training programme to recruit a young local race caller(I am too old for the job). . In this aspect we are behind Malaysia who have local boys doing the race commentary. Kudos are in order for the HR Department and I believe the recent appointments and revamp of departments and portfolios are a step in the right direction to emulate the standards set by Hong Kong. Already our facilities are comparable and in some ways even better than some parts of the world. Of course ther's always room for improvement and I am looking forward to Quad betting which is way overdue for implementation. Co-mingling should also be extended to exotic bets as well as straight win/place. Can't the technical difficulties be overcomed or is it a policy decision?

I shall replace all my VAL-BETS with "INVEST BETS" from today onwards and start a new VAL-BET tally for horses only with genuine value and omit the favourites. Sunday 's race card looks easier and I expect a few favourites to fail today. No jockey is likely to score a winning double and the chances look well spread out but there are still gems to be found in our INVEST and VAL-BETS. THE MAIN CHANCES ARE ON THE LEFT OF THE SINGLE SLASH IF YOU DO NOT FANCY MY 1ST PICK ESPECIALLY IF THEIR ODDS ARE TOO WILD FOR YOUR FANCY.

My tally for Larry Foley seems to be incorrect and his score is 170 wins. Racing Guide is still leading and top of the heap at 182 wins. Starstatz Racing is on 180 wins and keeping a distant 2nd. With no distractions and full handicap data analysis I will have no excuses for not doing well from today onwards and I should be able to at least close the gap on RG while keeping Larry(with his current form this season he is not an easy man to shake off) off my back. Together with Andrew Frost , the four of us we have pulled away from the chasing pack and kept a healthy distance between the rest. My preparation will be more intense and will include sectional times in difficult races and when time permits. I expect Moreira to do his usual and I expect at least a double from win. I also expect the Princess Hopwood to break the ice in the early races today and who knows she might even get an early double. I am sure the Kranji gentleman will give her a fair crack of the whip and she should oblige in only one race. I am not sure if I can still call myself...Singapore's top racing blog after next week with good ole Larry Foley breathing down my neck. Racing Guide are having a stellar season and look well on target to break my record(internet/print media) of 24o wins of last season and they are leading the table by hefty 15 win lead from yours truly. Andrew Frost is still a good 4th but the chasm between the rest puts Larry Foley ahead of the rest by 11 wins.Racing Guide are on 168 wins, Starstatz racing is on 153 wins and Larry Foley is on 151 wins (I stand corrected on my post on 7naps where I had Larry on 152 wins). Xiu Fang is the best among the rest at 140 wins.
Today should be fair day for racing so be cautious and hold off your big investments till Sunday with shoo-ins like Better Than Ever who might just pay better than $6 for this round. Concentrate on the VAL-BETS and medium/big bets for serious play today but tread cautiously unless you are ahead for the day. I do fancy some longshots obliging today especially in the fast pace races!

Today is a red letter day for Moreira to chalk up his personal best(5 WINS?) of the day at Kranji. For the leadership board do check out tally for the top 3 on 7naps.com. My preparation today is slightly better( 50%) tan last Friday and I should with some luck hold off larry Foley from claiming 2nd spot outright for yet another week...let's see. I would suggest to be cautious in the early races and slowly increase the bets in the later races and keep a sharp look out for Moreira today who should feature prominently in the winner's circle or the forecast today.

I am still running joint 2nd with Larry Foley in the media challenge trailing racing by a good 14 wins but streets ahead of most of the rest except for Andrew Frost who is still in 4th. At the least you will find it entertaining and you might be bemused by my forward thinking comments for the good of racing. Punters Way may have won the 1st round but i believe there will be some twists and turns before this million dollar saga ends.

My preparation for today has been extremely ill prepared and I advise caution in following my selections until I comment that my preparation is thorough and I pick up better form and results. The top 3 positions remain relatively unchanged but Racing Guide(150 wins) now has a 11 win lead over Starstatz whileLlarry Foley is trailing Starstatz by a mere 2 wins. I will reconcile the VAL-BETS R.O.I. in my next posting. My preparation has been poor due to work commitments...let's see if I can make the best of it. Be cautious with my selections but look closely at the top 2 choices and go slow in the exotics except for Race 7 where I am confident Waikato (VAL-BET ]) will feature prominently in the forecast. Be cautious early and bet BIG in later races if up for the day.

I have been lucky to keep up with racing Guide in the month of July despite taking shortcuts and doing rushed jobs in my selection. I have been hard pressed to maintain my position and having a full-time job. I should cope better with a single race day next week. For today go slow on the exotics and concentrate on my top 2 selections and monitor the VAL-BETS closely for serious investments. For the top 3 tally in the media challenge do check out www.7naps .com for the latest VAL-BET update and and media challenge tally . The top 3 positions remain unchanged with Andrew Frost still in 4th position. Keep a sharp lookout for the Saimee/Laxon combination today to do better than Moreira/Duric/Soo although these 3 will each have a winner or 2 today. My fate and Larry Foleys's performance for the day will hinge on whether Saimee has a quiet day((he has been untypically very quiet recently). If he is in form both of us should pare down Racing Guide's substantial lead and ig his guns are silent there is a danger of Racing Guide pulling further away. Iwill turn on my after burner for next week's races with a thorough preparation. I will be disappointed if I don't put 3 to 4 wins on the board today

Thus my win for Race 2 will count in my tally.Play small from Races 1-6 and BIG VAL BETS from Races 7-8-9.The pace of the races from 1 to 8 is slow while Race 9 the pace is good . Do look out for front running types or on pace runners in the slow pace races as ther is a double bias in favour of the front half of the field.
