Today is a good day for serious horse investments for races marked as "BIG" or " medium" in confidence level. For a full update on media tipster challenge please refer to website www.7naps.com. I am now in 2nd trailing leader Raciing Guide on 106 wins by 3 wins with Larry Foley closing in fast adrift by another 3 wins. Let's see if I can move closer to close the gap while keeping Larry at bay. For better feng shui I have decided to replace my slashes with the $ sign for GOOD LUCK!

RESULTS OF SINGAPORE AIRLINES INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL- HORSERACING
RESULTS OF THE SINGAPORE AIRLINES INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL MEDIA(INTERNET AND PRINT ) TIPSTER CHALLENGE BASED ON RACES ON 14MAY/16MAY 2010.
Andrew Frost did not participate but it did not surprise me that 3 of the top performers came from the top 5 in the annual media challenge and most of the bottom 5 have been there most of the season..Since no prizes were offered I can only offer the title of "pundit" to be bestowed on these gentlemen and to go with the honour of making it. I barely scraped through on a tie in joint 5th place with Thean Loon. The results based on value of dividends were quite interesting compared to the one win one point system currently in use in the Winner21 challenge. I would recommend Winner21 and the STC encourage this format in the next season to encourage the spotting of value bets and lonsgots. Take my selection of Kalash as opposed to my 2nd choice of the eventual winner Kotipelto which I did identify as my longshot of the night but I played it safe by relegating him to 2nd choice. If I had done so(no courage to take risks) I would have beaten Larry Foley. I will be giving the table for the new dividend format 1st followed by the conventional format currently in use!

I am organising an internet/print media challenge for the Singapore Airlines Carnival weekend for Races on 14/16May.It will be based on 1 win only based on points in lieu of dividends and it will be a drastic experiment and a far cry from the current format which favours the selections of favourites. In response to reader Desmond's query on the use of slashes. Let me explain the concept of using slashes instead of dashes. When dashes are used you will understand that the selections are given in descending order but in order of merit. The use of slashes (with explaination or the use of a key) will enable the reader to gauge the weightage given by the author in his selections and which are suitable plays for win/place only. The use of a single slash denotes that the horses on the left of the slash are rated markedly better than the horses on the right of the slash and horses in between single slashes but separated by dashes are roughly equal in strength.
The horses on the left of the 2 slashes are the main contenders in winning the race while horses on the right do have winning chances but much less. The horses on the right of the 3 slashes(I intend to replace it with #) are horses with very slim or no chances(I am wrong sometimes) of winning and are merely good for minor placiongs only. They should be mainly used on the 3rd and 4th lines in exotic bets and use them on the 2nd line only if you have a big budget.
I am the only media tipster to provide an exotic bet service and recommended play on 7 selections not because I am kiasu or that i need 7 selections to get a winner. The recommended play on win place is usually on the 1st choice when the name of the horse is usually typed in full unless under time constraints. Alternately look for horses on the left of the 2 slashes for play on win/place and using as single or double bankers in the exotic bets..

I do not expect many longshots or surprises today except for the 2400M race which is fairly open with many winning chances..I am now in 2nd place with 75 wins trailing race leader Racing Guide by 5 wins as they riding high on 80 wins. Their form has been patchy in recent weeks and I have managed to close the gap after trailing in early season by 12 wins. THE WINNER SHOULD COME FROM THE TOP 2 SELECTIONS
