STARSTATZ RACING-SINGAPORE 26 fEBRUARY 2010

With 5 wins on the board I maintained some semblance of credibility although Racing Guide , Andrew Frost, Craig Evans and Tan Thean Loon managed to better my score with 6 wins. The leaderboard now reads as Racing Guide in 1st with 49 wins , Andrew Frost and Ma Chao are joint 2nd on 47 wins and yours truly is trailing in joint 8th with 40 wins. I am playing it safe today in my attempt to narrow the gap before it reaches double digit figures. I am not taking the risk by tipping longshots like Atomic Cannon in Race 1 and Oil Baron in Race 8 but it wouldn't surprise me if they oblige and create an upset in their respective races with valid reasons for support.. I managed to hit some direct quartets last week with the 1st 4 in the correct exact order but they paid a paltry $12 and $54 ...not too bad for a $2 investment. I also managed to have my 1st choice selections winning with the other horses making the tierce/quartet especially in the last race won by Samurai Phoenix where the quartet pay out was a $1000 plus.

Today's races are quite tricky and quite a handful of favourites will falter so do be cautious unless you are up. I have had a good pre race preparation and should score well with one of the 1st 2 choices delivering(hopefully my 1st choice but I am especially wary in Race 7 as my 2nd choice Waipapa is reportedly ion terrific form and may beat my 1st choice , Super Gold and hence my advice is to make an equal cover bet and also make it the best forecast for the day).
For a detailed analysis of Race 7 do visit the website www.7naps.com where I am a guest pundit.

My selections today are:-

RACE 1 GOLDEN JAMBHALA...SMALL...8-11/9//3-6///5-10...PACE VERY SLOW...LONGSHOT NBR 9 ATOMIC CANNON IS STABLEMATE TO POSSIBLE RACE FAVOURITE PINK CHEETAH SO WATCH HIS TOTE CLOSELY...UNLIKE OTHER TIPSTERS I AM CONFIDENT 8 CAN HANDLE THE RISE IN DISTANCE AS SIRE IS A MILER

RACE 2 MERCHANT...MEDIUM...6-3// 1-2/// 8-4...PACE GOOD TO SLOW...BEST TRIAL TIME

RACE 3 BOYLE...MEDIUM ...VALUE BET OF THE DAY...7/6-5/3 /// 12-2/ 4...PACE SLOW...THE SLOW PACE WILL HELP HIS CAUSE.BIG RED IS THE CLASSIEST HORSE IN THE FIELD BUT THE EXPECTED SLOW PACE AND BARRIER 1 WILL NOT HELP HIS CAUSE AND THE NARROW D COURSE WILL CAUSE TRAFFIC PROBLEMS IN HIS RUN IN...NOTHING MUCH TO CHOOSE BETWEEN SIR RUMBLE AND ETERNAL TRAVELLER BUT HIS LORDSHIP IS FRACTIONALLY FASTER ON TANDEM SECTIONAL TIME BY 0.01 SECONDS.eTERNAL TRAVELLER MAY BE CAUGHT WIDE WITHOUT COVER AND WILL HAVE TO TRAVEL ON THE OUTSIDE OF SIR RUMBLE ALL THE WAY

RACE 4 ZAC NIRVANA...SMALL ...MOST OPEN RACE OF THE DAY WITH MANY UNKNOWN FACTORS...8-2/10/1-3 /// 9-6...PACE VERY SLOW...SUGGEST TO SKIP THIS RACE UNLESS YOU HAVE GOOD INTEL REPORTS

RACE 5 ACE AVIDA ...BIG...2-8// 4-5 ///10-11/1....2 HORSE RACE ...VERY GOOD FORECAST...PACE SLOW SO ACE AVIDA HAS TO MAKE HIS MOVE BEFORE THE TOP OF THE STRAIGHT...ESTEEM POWER HAS THE ADVANTAGE ON HANDICAP AND THE PACE SUITS WHILE THE ACE HAS CLASS AND BETTER SPEED FIGURES

RACE 6 PINA COLARDA...SMALL...2-3// 5/// 6-4 PACE GOOD TO SLOW...BIG MINAKO HAS BEATEN PINA COLARDA BY ONE LENGTH ON 15JAN 2010 BUT IS WORST OFF IN THE WEIGHTS BY 3.5KG WHICH SHOULD ENABLE 2 TO TURN THE TABLES ON HIM ON THE BASIS THAT 3.5KG IS EQUIVALENT TO 7 LENGTHS...WATCH 5 FOR POSSIBLE UPSET AS HE HAS THE BEST HANDICAP BUT SLOW SPEED FIGURES

RACE 7 SUPER GOLD...BIG...3-8// 7-1/// 2-10-5...PACE GOOD...MUST COVER EQUAL BET ON 8 WHO IS REPORTEDLY IN GOOD FORM...8 HAS SUPERIOR HANDICAP BUT 3 IS CLASSY AND HAS BETTER SPEED FIGURES

RACE 8 INTERCEPT...SMALL...4-2/ 3-12// 8 /// 11-1...PACE GOOD TO FAST...IF 2-4-1 SET A SCORCHING PACE THEY WILL PLAY INTO THE HANDS OF 3 AND 12 WHO WILL COME FROM MIDFIELD...I EXPECT AN UPSET BUT I AM PLAYING IT SAFE IN MY SELECTION

RACE 9 BLACK ICE...BIG...6-2// 8-12/// 9-7/ 10...PACE SLOW...BEST BET OF THE NIGHT ...HAS THE RESPECT OF THE HANDICAPPER WHO PENALISED HIM A POINT MORE THAN TOTARA...HAS BETTER SPEED FIGURES AND SECTIONAL TIMES BUT TOTARA HAS BETTER HANDICAP BY ONE LENGTH

STARSTATZ RACING- SINGAPORE 20 FEBRUARY 2010

One of Australian readers has pointed out to me that Eagle Farm Tace track is in Brisbane and not Canberra...my apologies for the mix up. With depleted fields the exotics will be much easier to strike but will not represent much value. Get the winner right and use the right banker horse even if 1st favourite it;s OK as it will be of value if value priced horses fill the minor placings.

My selections today are:-

RACE 1 SINTHREE...MEDIUM...6-1/5-10// 3/// 4-11...PACE GOOD...VALUE BET OF THE NIGHT AS JOCKEY TRIALLED WELL WOTH SINTHREE...WHILE MAIN RIVAL IN HANDICAP AND SUPERIOR SPEED FIGURE MY PAPPARICH DOES BETTER WITH BLINKERS WHILE PACIFIC GIFT IS STILL A THREAT ON HIS OVERSEAS FORM BUT HAS INFERIOR HR/SF TO SINTHREE IN HIS LOCAL RUN

RACE 2 TWIN ACE...MEDIUM...1/2-4...PACE GOOD...HAS OBVIOUS KNOWN FORM AND BEST HR(HANDICAP RATING)/SF (SPEED FIGURE) AND LOST TO A USEFUL TYPE IN MAPLE STAR

RACE 3 DORADO JOY ...SMALL...8-4/9-5// 3/// 1-6...PACE SLOW...LONGSHOT OF THE DAY...HAS ADVANTAGE IN HANDICAP AND SPEED FIGURE BUT WILL NOT BE SUITED BY THE PACE AND WILL HAVE TO MAKE HIS MOVE BEFORE THE HOME TURN..CONSIDER A COVER BET ON 4 IF 8 IS TOO HIGH IN PRICE FOR YOUR LIKING...sTANZOUT DOES NOT LOOK A STRONG FAVOURITE.

RACE 4 FAMOUS THAN U...MEDIUM...2-8/1-6///3-4...PACE VERY SLOW...HAS PROVEN RACE EXPERIENCE OVER THE DISTANCE

RACE 5 MAPLE STAR...MEDIUM...6-8/// 7-10/ 2/// 1...PACE SLOW...6 HAS THE BETTER SPEED FIGURE BUT 8 HAS THE BETTER HANDICAP AND PROVEN ON TURF....MUST COVER 8

RACE 6 CASINO ROYALE...MEDIUM...5-11/6-4/10///3-8...PACE VERY SLOW...5 HAS CLEAR CREDENTIALS ON HR/SF

RACE 7 HIGH NOON...BIG...4-3/ 7// 8/// 2-1/ 5...PACE VERY SLOW...4 HAS THE CLASS BUT 3 HAS THE BETTER SPEED FIGURE WHILE 7 IS THE DARK HORSE

RACE 8 ZAC BEAT IT...MEDIUM...3-1/ 5// 4...PACE VERY SLOW...1 WILL LEAD AND PACE WILL SUIT BUT 3 HAS BETTER HR/SF AND 5 HAS BEST HR/SF BUT OVER 1400M

RACE 9 TUMBULGUM...BIG...BEST BET OF THE DAY...6/ 4-9/ 2/// 3-1/7...PACE GOOD TO FAST...USE 6 AS A CONFIDENT BANKER AND YOU SHOULD STRIKE THE EXOTICS

RACE 10 ZESTFULGO...SMALL... 8-7/ 1-5///2 / 11-12...PACE GOOD....SUGGEST A COVER BET ON 7 WHO HAS POOR RECENT FORM ON TURF BUT BEST SF DONE ON 16 OCTOBER 09. 8 HAS TOP CLASS SIRE SPEED INFLUENCE FOR THIS DISTANCE AND A TOP JOCKEY ON BOARD AND MAY SURPRISE AT GOOD ODDS...A USEFUL VALUE BET

RACE 11 SAMURAI PHOENIX...MEDIUM...1-3/ 2-10// 5/// 4-6...PACE GOOD...SUGGEST BOX THE TOP 4 FOR GOOD VALUE ON ALL THE EXOTICS...2 AND 10 WILL ADD VALUE TO THE EXOTICS AND 1 HAS A BETTER SF COMPARED TO 3.

STARSTATZ RACING- SINGAPORE 19 FEBRUARY 2010

With 3 wins on the board I am now in joint 7th place with 33 wins/34 placings from 120 races. racing Guide is in the lead with 40 wins followed by Xiu Fang in 2nd on 38 wins and Andrew Frost on 3rd with 37 wins. With my review of selection strategy back to last season's winning formula I should narrow the gap by the end of this month and should be back in the Top 3 or Top 5 by end of March. My experiment succeed in delivering 3 value bets in the form of All Elusive on at $30/$15 on 17 Jan,Lim's Connection at $30/$10 on 05 February amd Day of Empire at $37/$9 on 16 February but my primary target is to put more wins on the board to prove my belief in the methodolgies taught by my mentor Benny Ortega and to show that last season's record breaking 240 wins was not just a flash in the pan or a one season wonder.

I expect to do well in the win/place , forecast and exotic bets today and you should focus on the 2 main chances and the cover bets as bankers for the exotics. The numbers on the left of the 2 slashes are the main chances while those on the right of the 3 slashes have (in my opinion at least) have no chance of winning but are good for the 3rd and 4th line on the exotics if you have the budget. A good example is last week's win by Goldschatz for a paltry win dividend of $13 but if you had followed our advice to use him as a banker we scored on both the tierce and quartet having to use only 4 more horses for a return of $207 and $782 from a mere investment of $24 and $48 respectively. Even if you used the full list of 6 other horses for $60 and $240 you would have still made a profit.

My selections for today are :-

RACE 1 FLASH GORDON...SMALL...3-8//5- 10-4/// 13-7..PACE VERY SLOW...SUGGEST TOKEN COVER ON 8. 3 HAS THE SPEED FIGURE BUT 8 HAS A BETTER HANDICAP AND CAN UPSET.WILD LONGSHOT IS NEWBIE FLASH BACK WHO COST A$80K

RACE 2 VANQUISH...BIG...3/9// 5///4-10/ 8/1...PACE SLOW...9 HAS AN OLD HANDICAP ADVANTAGE OVER 3 DONE OVER 1800M ON 18 SEP BUT UNLIKELY TO TROUBLE VANQUISH SERIOUSLY

RACE 3 ALACARTE...MEDIUM...4-2// 7-11/// 5/ 6-3...PACE FAST...MOST CLASSY HORSE IN THE FIELD BUT WIDE BARRIER A SLIGHT CONCERN...CHANCES BETTER DUE MAIN DANGER SPEAKNOEVIL WITHOUT BLINKERS A DISADVANTAGE

RACE 4 ZAC MISSILE...BIG...6-7/ 3// 5 /// 4-1...PACE VERY SLOW...CONSIDER TOKEN COVER ON 7 BUT IGNORE 7 AND COVER 5 SERIOUSLY IF 5'S BODY WEIGHT GETS CLOSER TO 466KG AS 5 HAS SUPERIOR HANDICAP AND SPEED FIGURE COMPARED TO 6 BASED ON HIS 20 sEP 09 LOSS TO UNDAUNTED....CAN UPGRADE 5 TO 1ST CHOICE IF BODY WEIGHT IS RIGHT.

RACE 5 SIR DENIS...SMALL...MOST OPEN RACE OF THE DAY WITH OVERSEAS FORM UNCLEAR...5-6/ 7-1// 3/// 11-4...EAGLE FARM TRACK IS IN CANBERRA WITH 1000m TRACK RECORD OF 0:56.0 AND 1200M AT 1:08.1. sIR DENIS PROJECTED SPEED FIGURE IS EXTRAPOLATED AT 1:09.53

RACE 6 TEEN ANGEL...BIG...7/ 6/ 3 // 1-5/// 8-4...PACE VERY SLOW...NOTHING MUCH TO TROUBLE EXCEPT UNKNOWN SUPER TRIO AND EXPECTED SLOW PACE WILL HELP

RACE 7 MEXICAN ROSE...BIG... 9/8-4 // 5 /// 1/ 7-2...PACE SLOW...CAN CONSIDER TOKEN ON 8....CLASSY LADY MEXI SHOULD PUT SOME DAYLIGHT AND SLIPSTREAM BETWEEN THE BOYS ALTHOUGH THE BOYS SEEM TO HAVE BETTER SPEED FIGURES

RACE 8 THANKSGIVING...BIG... 14-4/// 12-3// 7/ 11-5...PACE GOOD ...MUST COVER 4 WELL...14 HAS THE BETTER HANDICAP...BETTER SPEED FIGURES AND BETTER SECTIONALS BUT IT WILL BE CLOSE AND MUST COVER 4.

RACE 9 I TAWT I TAW...MEDIUM...10-8// 12-1/ 7 /// 14/6...PACE VERY FAST...MUST COVER 8 WELL...8 HAS THE BETTER SPEED FIGURE AND THE BETTER BARRIER DRAW BASED ON RUNNING STYLE BUT 10 HAS THE BETTER HANDICAP BUT MIGHT BE BLOCKED FOR A RUN BUT IS IN TERRIFIC FORM AND SHOULD GO CLOSE.

16 February 2010

STARSTATZ RACING SINGAPORE 16 FEBRUARY 2010

I had a lack lustre outing with only 1 win on the board with 4 2nd choices making it to the winners's circle. This will be my last week experimenting with value bets which has not proved as successful a formula in the media tipster full card challenge. If my score is still below par I will change my selection strategy from next week onwards and follow my last season's winning strategy. With a score of 30 wins I am now trailing in 8th place with Racing Guide in the lead with 38 wins, Xiu Fang in 2nd on 35 wins and Andrew Frost in 3rd on 34 wins. To maintain my credibility that last season was not a fluke I have to rein in the leaders and make it back to the top 5 or top 3 by the end of February with a few top of the table performances. Today does not look like a day for favourites so be cautious with win/place betting and the exotics. I shall be doing only 4 selections for the exotics today due to time constraints as I am posting from overseas this week. So use these selections as key horses and add your own horses to make up the 3rd line. My other selections are meant for the 2nd and 3rd line unless I recommend a cover bet. In this case I would suggest you use the 2nd horse as a double banker in the exotics. I have tried to provide value today and my score might be affected(hopefully I can deliver value and the an above par performance on number of winners as well

12 February 2010

STARSTATZ RACING - SIN - 12 FEBRUARY 2010

With 5 wins and 2nd highest scorer of the day on 07 Feb (the highest was done by Xiu Fang with 6 wins) the internet/ print media leader board now reads as Racing Guide on 1st with 35 wins, Xiu Fang and Ma Chao on joint 2nd with 31 wins, Punters Way, Tan Thean Loon and Andrew Frost on joint 4th with 30 wins, Starstaz on 29 wins/36 placings(29% strike rate) from 100 races in 7th, Craig Evans on 8th with 22 wins from 80 races or a strike rate of 27.5%,Hui Liang ,Zheng Qiang and Zheng Liang on 9th with 27 wins(27% strike rate),Danny Khoo in 12th place with 21 wins from 79 races(strike rate of 26.5%), Larry Foley in 13th with 25 wins,Michael Maxworthy in 14th with 17 wins from 71 races(23.94%), HS Chan from Sagacity blog in 15th with 23 wins, Ma Hui and Meng Yew in joint 16th with 20 wins, Lao Wang in 18th on 18 wins, Winner 21 in 19th on 17 wins and Marc Tan in 20th on 13 wins (not too bad this year with 2 good longshots so far). For those on leave I have evaluated them on winning strike percentages. Should I tabulate any score incorrectly do drop me an email for correction.

It was announced before the start of the Race 11 on 05 Feb that Zac Beat it will race in a more forward position and he duly won. On the other Superczar in Race 7 on 05 Feb did not do the same. Superczar usually races as a closer or off pace style but no announcement was made that he will be racing in a more forward position andn the connections should be penalised. Enforcement of rules in change of racing styles should be duly monitered and errant parties penalised accordingly. Craig Evans mentioned on Track Talk that this should be done much earlier( I recommend at acceptances or the night before at 5.00pm). STC should look into this matter and enforce the rules more strictly to create a conducive winning environment. Whatever the STC does should be focused to help the winning process. A similar survey to the one done by HKJC should be emulated regarding winning statistics and they mentioned that Sprints in higher class races were mostly won by favourites. The short E course today will strongly favour front runners and on pace runners especially in races where the pace is very slow or slow.

Today's clash in Race 8 between Always Certain and Collect The Cash will be a watershed for Singapore Racing pitting the mainly Channel 5 tipsters tipping CTC ; Racing Guide, Starstatz,Michael Maxworthy and Andrew Frost against the rest of the of the media tipping fraternity with the exception of Zheng Qiang (Just A Man- 3rd liner) and Marc Tan (Good Striker-longshot who is out of his depth with slim chances)...he has to beat Just A Man and Williams 1st before he can defeat the 2 protaganists AC and CTC)) tipping Always Certain. Some have even put Always Certain as a shoo-in based on the extra star rating. Do the 4 of us have an inside track information to go against Always Certain or is it that we have a different methodology to assess the race instead of just using timings. On timing we have Always Certain at 1:09.18 based on his win on 02 Oct 09 with a HR of minus 4.9(he did a better HRof minus 2.72 over the 1400M on 03 Jan 2010). CTC did SF of 1:10.18 on 08 Nov 09 with a HR of minus 4.9(he later did a HR of minus 4 winning over 1400M). Michael Maxworthy based on Track Talk is using thelast 600M sectional times as a tool of assessment while I am using the 1st and last 400M to assess the potential of both horses to improve. Always Certain has a sectionals of 25.0/22.57 = tandem sectionals at 47.57 while CTC at 25.12/22.36 = Tandem sectionals at 47.48. Both were carrying 58kg and are now dropping to 55kg. If CTC does win then it will vindicate our methodolgies used although we are in the minority. Anybody can be wise after the event but we are clearly taking a stand before the start of races.

For a detailed analysis of Race 7 do check out my posting on www.7naps.com

MY SELECTIONS FOR TODAY ARE:-

RACE 1 GENTLEMAN'S HONOUR...MEDIUM...8-1// 9-3/// 4 / 5-2...PACE VERY SLOW...PACE WILLFAVOUR 8 AND 3

RACE 2 THE DANCER...MEDIUM...4-6// 3-2 /// 1-7/11 ...CAN COVER TOKEN ON 6...PACE VERY SLOW

RACE 3 ACE AVIDA...SMALL...1-2/8// 4 /// 5-6/3...PACE GOOD...CAN COVER 2.@ MAY WIN IF ACE AVIDA GOES TO SLEEP AND MAKES HIS MOVE LATE. ACE AVIDA IS A SMART CLASSY TYPE AND SHOULD WIN IF THE CHI IS KEEN.

RACE 4 STREET SMART...BIG...2/ 3 // 1-4/// 5-6...PACE VERY SLOW...SOME TIPSTERS HAVE WTITTEN HIM OFF AS AN EXPENSIVE DUD. AT A$1.4 MILLION HE MAY NOT PROVE TO BE CLASS 1 MATERIAL BUT OUR TRACK REPORTS INDICATE HE HAS ENOUGH TO TAKE ON THIS ORDINARY LOT

RACE 5 BIG MOMENT...MEDIUM....1-6/// 5-3 / 4 / 8-9...PACE SLOW...SLOW PACE WILL BE OF SOME CONCERN FOR BIG MOMENT WHO IS AN OFF PACE RUNNER BUT HIS SUPERIOR HR/SF SHOULD BE TOO STRONG FOR THIS FIELD. THE SLOW PACE MAY HELP FRONT RUNNER ZAC POWER.

RACE 6 INTERCEPT...BIG...6/ 7 // 9-1/// 3-8/ 10...PACE VERY SLOW AND WILL HELP LONE FRONT RUNNER INTERCEPT BECAUSE OF COURSE BIAS.

RACE 7 LAMBORGHINI FLAME...BIG OR MEDIUM DEPENDS ON BODY WEIGHT OF HORSE.....PACE SLOW....5-6/ 1 // 2 /// 3...CAN COVER TOKEN ON 6 .

STARSTATZ RACING HKG RACES 10 FEBRUARY 2010

In the ad hoc internet/print media challenge we managed to score 4 wins and 2 wins for 31January and 03 February 2010 for a tally of 6 wins. For 03 February HKG races Phillip Woo writing for Newpaper had 3wins , Starstatz and Racing Guide had 2 wins @ and Punters Way and Ma Tat and Sagacity writing a column for Punters Way had 1 win @. The tally after 2 race days is Racing Guide had 7 wins from 18 races, Starstatz and Phillip Woo had 6 wins, Punters Way had 4 wins, Sagacity and Ma Tat had 2 wins. Should there be a mistake in the calculation of scores for these 2 days do drop me a line at insiders111@yahoo.com.sg. For a detailed analysis of a single premier race of the day for Singapore racing do visit 7naps.com where I am the guest pundit

Go slow in the early races and start investing more from race 3 onwards iof you are winning. I may not be able to cover HKG racing on a regular basis but you can use it as a guide if you are going to the races today.

My selections are :-

RACE 1 HAPPY SUNDAY...SMALL...10-7-3-9...MOST OPEN RACE OF THE DAY WHICH I BELIEVE WILL BE WON BY A CLASS 3 OR CLASS 4 DROPPER RATEHER THAN A HOVERING IN THE CLASS 5 RANGE AND 10 HAS DROPPED FROM A HIGH RATING OF CR 60 TO HIS PRESENT LEVEL...THE EXPECTED SLOW PACE WILL SUIT ALTHOUGH 7 LOOKS IN TERRIFIC FORM DURING HIS RECENT TRIAL BUT HE IS NOT LIKELY TO GET A RAILS RUN AND WILL BE TRAPPED 3 OR 4 WIDE. iN THE EVENT HE CAN JUMP 1ST OR 2ND THAN HE MIGHT OVERCOME THE BAD BARRIER AND WIN.MY OVERALL ADVICE IS TO SKIP THIS RACE.

RACE 2 MILLION DARLING...MEDIUM...8-3-6-2...CAN CONSIDER COVER ON 3...VALUE BET OF THE NIGHT AS MOST WOULD CONSIDER HIM A RISKY UNKNOWN BUT MY REPORTS ON HIS TRIALS AND TRACKWORK INDICATE HE IS A PROMISING SORT IN THIS WEAK FIELD.

RACE 3 GOLDEN BAUHINA...BIG...1-11-6-10...BEST BET OF THE NIGHT

RACE 4 IMPLIED VOTALITY...BIG ...4-11-8-12...CAN CONSIDER TOKEN COVER ON 11 AS A LONGSHOT

RACE 5 O'REILLY MAGIC...BIG...6-7-2-4...CAN CONSIDER TOKEN COVER ON 7

RACE 6 NEW CHAPTER...MEDIUM...9-7-12-5...CAN CONSIDER COVER ON 7

RACE 7 ELEGANT WIN...BIG... 7-11-5-4

RACE 8 HOLEY DOLLAR...MEDIUM...11-10-8-12....10 IS A CLASS ACT BEING A GRP 1 PLACED HORSE BUT WILL NEED A HOT PACE TO OVERWHELM THIS LOT. HIS BREEDING SUGGESTS HE M,AY NEED THE EXTRA 200m TO DO WELL.

PRIMARILY I DO NOT EXPECT TO STRIKE THE TIERCE/QUARTET WWITH ONLY 4 SELECTIONS BUT DO USE MY 2ND ,3RD, AND 4TH CHOICES AS KEY SELECTIONS ON THE 2ND AND 3RD LINES COUPLED WITH SOME OF YOUR OTHER OWN PERSONAL
CHOICES IN THE 3RD AND 4TH LINES

07 February 2010

Kudos for The STC journalists who highlighted Rocket Man and Tobias . I think this is the way to go for interviews and win ot lose both selections have serious chances with Tobias having some value. I managed 2 wins but had a direct hit ($2 investment in the correct order)on the tierce in race 5 won by Locus Standi with a pay out of $1098.. I am now on 24 wins and trailing the leaders by a couple of wins. Today should be a good day for favourites with 50% likely to oblige and any decent tipster should chalk up 4 wins but some races are tricky with 2 main chances. Look out for the races marked "BIG" for serious investments.

My selections are :-

RACE 1 BLUEBERRY POWER...SMALL ....1-10/8-6///7-2/11...CAN COVER 10 SERIOUSLY...LONGSHOT OF THE NIGHT

RACE 2 BENJI'S GLORY...BIG...4-12// 8-5/6 /// 11-3

RACE 5 ZAC MISSILE...MEDIUM...7-1/8//9/// 4-2/5...CAN CONSIDER COVER ON 1

RACE 6 FEARED...BIG....7-1//3-11/// 8-9/2....IGNORE HIS FAILURE ON WET TRACKS...CLASSY TYPE....VALUE BET OF THE DAY...AS PEOPLE DWELL ON EARLY FAILURES

RACE 7 SEAN...MEDIUM...4-5/3-10/// 11/2-7

RACE 8 TOBIAS...5-3//4-6/// 1

RACE 9 ROCKET MAN...BIG...1-8/// 5-2/6-7

RACE 10 HIGH NOON...BIG...3-8// 4-9/// 1/11-6...best bet of the day

RACE 11 UNDAUNTED...SMALL...2-3/ 11-1/// 10-5/4

RACE 12 REPORT FOR DUTY...MEDIUM...2-3//9-7/// 1/ 5-8

STARSTATZ RACING 05 FEBRUARY 2010

It's a sad day for racing when we lose one our racing stalwarts Danny Khoo(Champion Media Tipster for Season 2000 and 2003 albeit on a part time basis to our rich mistress from the Integrated Resorts. Is enough being done in terms of welfare and incentives to keep our top tipsters. Are we giving them enough support to keep their focus on racing. We should find ways to reward good work and give the yellow card to shoddy work and red herrings which give our industry a bad name that it's a mug's game for losers! At least today's highlight in the Straits Times is on Feline Groovy and Breadwinner(in good training form and hence a good value bet) have decent chances(whether they win or lose does not matter) of winning unlike last week's spotlight on Ghozi who ran last. Are we recruiting the best in form tipsters in the market or are we just filling up print space where some of our no hoper selections are the butt of jokes( I will not laugh at selections like Temujin who actually has the best old SF and races well when fresh!) from other media and racing forums. It is no wonder that many market watchers are predicting that Racing is a sunset industry compared to the charms of the new Miss I.R. which is looming on the horizon to surpass racing turnover. The ones in power (STC and the publications) could do more to arrest this trend. I hardly saw much promotions on racing in the last season and no new initiatives were introduced.

I had an unfortunate outing with a handful of my 2nd choices including Saga King(at least I had the forecast with Benji's Pride) scoring and I managed to put only one win on the board and I am now joint 5th with Xiu Fang(Shin Min) and Punters Way on 22 wins trailing the leaders Racing Guide and Ma Chao on 25 wins with Tan Thean Loon on 24 wins and Hui Liang on 23 wins. I will keep the score on the full stable of tipsters including the STC Broadcasting next week.

Today's races are similarly tricky with 2 main chances and some weak favourites . I would recommend to concentrate on the races marked big or concentrate on playing the horses on the left of the 2 slashes. Horses on the right of the 2 slashes are mere space fillers on the 2nd ,3rd and 4th lines for the exotics and have no chance of winning...at least in my opinion. If you do not agree with my 1st choice do consider my 2nd choice seriously.

My selections for today are:-

RACE 1 KARAPIRO...SMALL...1-10/3-13// 9 /// 12-7...WILD LONGSHOT OF THE DAY...CAN CONSIDER A COVER BET ON 10 AS 3 WILL BE THE MARKET FAVOURITE.MOST OPEN RACE OF THE DAY BUT BONUS CARRY OVER QUARTET JACKPOT MAKES IT INTRIGUING...PACE SLOW

RACE 2 ZAC DETONATOR...MEDIUM...2-8 /1//9///10/7-3...CAN CONSIDER TOKEN COVER ON 8...VALUE BET OF THE DAY....PACE PACE VERY SLOW

RACE 3 LIM'S CONNECTION...BIG...1-3// 6-11/ 2 ///13 -5...MUST COVER 3...PACE VERY SLOW

RACE 4 TRUE FRIENDS...SMALL...9-1///12-5//11-8/6....BEST EACH WAY LONGSHOT OF THE NIGHT WHO WILL BE SUITED BY THE EXPECTED SLOW PACE AS HE IS THE SOLE FRONT RUNNER. kING FAALCON HAS A BETTER HR AND SF BUT TRUE FRIENDS MIGHT HAVE HIDDEN TALENT AND SURPRISE..MUST COVER EQUAL OR STRONGLY ON 1...GOOD DOUBLE BANKER FOR EXOTICS AND FORECAST.PACE VERY SLOW

STARSTATZ RACING HKG RACES 03 FEBRUARY 2010

Are HKG based media tipsters for publicatioons in Singapore better than Singapore based media tipsters? While one swallow does not make a summer ...the results in a one off challenge on 31 Jan 2010 were an eye opener. Racing Guide was top tipster of the day with 5 wins and Starstatz was joint 2nd with Sagacity...on a countback I can claim 2nd spot on value of dividends boosted by my win on Gallant Hussar in Race 1 at $35. Punters Way had 3 wins, Phillip Woo (HKG)had 3 wins and Ma Tat (HKG)had one win. While these one off challenges may not be fair it is the only yardstick that I have for a direct comparison as I will not be tipping HKG races on a regular basis. I expect some 1st favourites will oblige but some especially in the early races have weak wining chances
