STARSTARSTATZ RACING - 01 JANUARY 2010

WHO CAN BE THE CHAMPION TIPSTER FOR 2010? The answer ...YOU the reader!
WHY? You can be because you can make a decision 5 minutes before the race after taking the body weights of horses and assessing the condition of the horses in the paddock and taking into account any changes in the condition of the track due to weather or track bias for the day. We have one proviso for you to attain this goal...read the Starstatz Racing blog and be empowered by the guidance before making your decision. I shall try my best to post one hour before start of races for the day races and 2.00pm to 3.00pm for the night races.

Who is this new kid (old man actually)on the block? I was trained by the Emeritus Chief Editor of Racing Guide, Mr Benny Ortega who is still making big bucks through his judicious horse racing investments. You too can follow in my footsteps by using Starstatz handicapping methodologies(benchmarked and inspired from Benny of course) as I managed to gatecrash(my media is internet which Winner21 unfortunately accepts only print media) the media tipster challenge and beat all the print media tipsters and the nearest challenger by a comfortable margin of 5 wins. Here are the results for season 2009:-
1st... 240 wins(243-3)/241 placings from 810 races...unofficial "OPEN CATEGORY(print and internet media) media tipster champion...STARSTATZ
2nd ...235 wins...Racing Guide ...official print media champion tipster champion
3rd..231 wins....Xiu Fang from Shin Min...official Winner21 Challenge print media champion
4th 218 wins...Hui Liang from Shin Min
5th ...216 wins ...Punters Way
The rest are Tan Thean Loon(Newpaper) 205 wins, Larrry Foley(Newpaper) 199 wins,Ma Chao(Wan Bao) 196 wins, Zheng Liang(Shin Min) 196 wins, Danny Khoo (Newpaper) 190 wins, Zheng Qiang (Wan Bao) 188 wins,Winner 21 with 176 wins, Meng Yew (Wan Bao) 175 wins and Marc Tan (Newpaper 142 wins. I have not included the STC Broadcasting Team as I do not as yet have their tally or win strike rate. I would love to include people from Turf Guide and HS Chan from Sagacity blog if they can email their pre race selections to include in this season's tally. If I have left anybody out please drop me an email at insiders111@yahoo.com.sg.

My tip for this year(read my 7naps column for further detrails).. study the top 3 tipsters and for solid track work analysis have a good look at Andrew Frost and Tan Thean Loon for input. In the course of the season I will not only provide possible plays for win/place (for full 7 selections or genuine late mail service you would have to subscribe my email/sms/ or twitter service which I will introduce in the 1st Quarter 2010) but also empower and educate and upgrade the punter to a serious horse investor with educational handicapping tools and nuggets of information for better analysis before making a selection.. I will try to make this the Premiere Racing Blog for Singapore Racing but I will face stiff competition from Larry Foley from Kranjiracing.com and HS Chan from Winner21/Sagacity who already have a headstart on me. In the following weeks I will highlight my best efforts for season 2009 which include the record for Top Tipster of the the day which I hold jointly with Michael Maxworthy from the STC Broadcasting Team with 9 wins from a card of 12 races on 02 August when Saimee scored his 7 winners in one day. I also managed to score with Quartets of $20,000 plus and $10,000 plus using my 1st selection as a banker in combination with 6 other selections. For those who might cast doubts on the authencity of my season 2009 scores I hope this blog will restore their confidence that I won comfortably with 5 wins to spare from Racing Guide.

Here are my selections for 01 January races(please note concentrate on the left of the 2 strokes ie // for serious play). I would also recommend to invest in the races marked "big "or "medium "in confidence

THIS IS A COMPLETE SAMPLE OF A FULL RACE ANALYSIS AS EXTRACTED FROM www.7naps.com where I am the Singapore resident pundit

SINGAPORE Race 8 Class 1 – 1200M long course A – Stakes $125,000
BACKGROUND INFORMATION.
My new year resolution is to be more timely and concise in my postings and more judicious in my use of the X 2 specials. There will be some changes for Singapore Nap with the addition of some features and I will be dropping some old ones. Let's hope you like the new format .My final 7naps tally for the season was 22 wins/ 37 placings from 87 selections ...a poor win rate of 25.29% and a decent win/place rate of 67.82%
It is an enigma as I was top performing 7naps tipster in season 2008 but the worst in season 2009. In case the 7naps readers are wondering ...let me offer an explanation.
In season 2008 I had a later posting time where I had access to a top notch track watcher but with an earlier post time in season 2009 I had to adjust and as a consequence I suffered the 2nd choice syndrome where a number of my 2nd choices won at good odds. I can only console the readers that respectable high place rate did not cause them to incur too severe a loss by following my selections avidly. With a later posting time for my full card selection I managed a tally of 240(243-3 for late submissions) wins/ 241 placings from 810 selections for a win rate of 240 from 807 actual selections at 29.74% or win/place rate of 59.75%. 2nd was Racing Guide at 235 wins, Xiu Fang from Shin Min at 231 wins. Who is actually the top tipster? Well let me address the issue ...Xiu Fang is recognised as the Top Tipster on the Winner21.com tally while Racing Guide is the official print media Top Tipster while I consider myself the unofficial Top Tipster in the “OPEN CATEGORY” ie Print and Internet Media . A few
readers from Winner21 have cast doubts on my score ...my reply is that copies of my postings are sent to senior STC officials and all the Press and weekly updates are given for scores to be verified including 18 December where I had a zero score and moreover I had 5 wins to spare from my nearest challenger. I had 2 peak months with scores of 35.21% in August ( I still hold the joint record of 9 winners in one day from a card of 12 races jointly with Michael Maxworthy from the STC Broadcasting Team)and 35.0% in October offset by weak performances of 23.94% in February and 21.57% in December. For the past season in my full card challenge I also managed 18 value bets paying $30 and above for a win. For the new season I will concentrate on the 7naps performances and leave the full card comments in my new blog. I am looking for volunteers to do research statistics in lieu of getting my full card selection service. Do drop me an email if you are interested at www.insiders111@yahoo.com.sg
I predict that the Top 3 will fight it out again in the new season with me being 3rd
favourite based on my poor December form . However I am still confident of a Top 5 placing for the new season. My prediction...like the filly Vodka I think the female species will do better than the boys and outlast and outrun them in season 2010 as she closed the last day win 7 wins(some at good odds...Congragulations Xiu Fang!). For the readers my advice is to study the Top 3 Tipsters closely and you the reader with access to last minute information can do better than us.
I shall be providing a new form report for this season to go with the Handicap Data. If time permits I shall endeavour to provide a full report as a sample for those who subscribe to my new subscription email or sms or twitter service with full card selections that I will be providing sometime in the 1st Quarter.
OVERVIEW OF RACE
The pace will be slow with Why Be the sole front runner with 3 on pace runners pressing(5-3-6) and the rest of the off pace runners trailing. The pace will suit Why Be the best but after the bleeding attack he suffered in Nov 08 he is not the same horse as he was before his fruitless trip to HKG. His best performance since on 13 Sep 09 pale in comparison to his pre HKG form and putting into perspective his return to form in his last start 2nd to Noble Manor makes it tough for him to outlast and outrun this tough field of sprightly young guns. Moreover he is facing his old nemesis Capablanca who has a better recent HR(Handicap Rating) and SF (Speed Figure) done on 24 April. Ignore Capablanca last 3 runs which were poor as Capablanca is noted for racing well 1st up or when fresh. . I hope STC interviews are more successful with highlight on more winners this season. In the past season their strike rate with Bartschiger's horses have been pathetic...let's hope a new season brings in new habits and I will be happy for them if Capablanca wins and will not be disappointed if he fails and runs a place. Keep him safe in your calculations especially if his body weight is around or close to 486 kg as unlike Why Be I think there is still some fight left in the old warrior. I will be disappointed if Capablanca runs unplaced and creates a feeling of stale red herrings again. I believe in giving Capablanca an honest chance of an upset as he has won 1st up and won twice after coming back from a break and was unplaced only once after a break. Noble Manor's recent trial was impressive and he won convincingly without being urged and based on that I shall stick with him.
Let it be said that Noble Manor does have the best recent HR but not the best overall HR in this race. Even Perfect Sky (best SF in this race but handicapped by poor HR due to the terms of this race and he is running 4 kg underscaled). The terms of this race are unfavourable to Amadeus Mozart(2kg underscaled) and New Target (5.5kg underscaled). An example New Target is forced to carry 50kg when his CR (Central Rating) is 29 points below Why Be at 109 compared to New Target's CR is 80 which makes him badly outclassed in this field. If you are looking for value do cover a token on Capablanca on the proviso of a good body weight but stick with Noble Manor unless there is a severe drop or increase. in body weight. The long course straight will make this seem like a 1400M race and that will suit Noble Manor who has won at 1600M
I have a medium level of confidence on Noble Manor taking on this moderate lot with the numbers in order as 3-2/6//5-1///. If you are playing the exotics use both 3 and 2 as bankers and you can take a risk by leaving out 4 and 7 completely. You can also use 3 as the sole banker and 2-6 as key horses on the 2nd line for the exotics.
I prefer Noble manor despite the short odds but for value you can cover Capablanca if he is at his ideal body weight . If Capablanca weight is off then I would suggest to upgrade Noble Manor to a big bet.
HANDICAP DATA in order of HR.(new feature: form stars :3 stars = excellent form, 2stars = good form , 1 star average form. X = poor form...recommend emphasis on data of last 3 months as more accurate and older form only as reference)
