I have noticed a startling change in the Straits Times advertorials today and I say this before the results are known...win or lose.....Congratulations in advance are in order and I expect both selections to win...Texas Takeover is a shoo-in as I have mentioned on Singapore Nap and Meaisin based on his Australian track record looks a good thing to follow. At worst case scenario Grand Approach might give him a slight scare and both of them should make the forecast spots and will likely beat Moreira's mount. I hope the column can keep up today's good work on a consistent basis till the end of the season like they did in the 2nd half of last season and avoid the inconsistencies of the 1st half of last season.. I hope "red herring" promotions with coy and reticent tight lipped Trainers are a thing of the past and we all start on a new slate.
Generally I expect low scores today but with new methodologies I hope to do well. With the exception of Texan Takeover I expect favourites to falter instead of winning on usual percentages. The track on both surfaces favours front runner and on pace runners.

RACE 3 *10-2/4-8....10 has the better old handicap and showed a return to form over unsuitble distance in last start....be cautious as he has chronic health problems and returning after a spell. ....star performer in track work....can cover 2 in case 10 is unsound!
RACE 4 **2-5/10-9.....SEBASTIAN HAS A NEW LOOK ABOUT HIM AND DOES NOT HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT SEX ANYMORE AND CAN FOCUS ON RACING....NEWLY GELDED....SHULD IMPROVE THE PROVERBIAL TON....10 HAS THE BEST HANDICAP AND GOOD LIGHTWEIGHT TO GIVE 2 A RUN FOR HIS MONEY.....CAN COVER AS DUTCH BET
RACE 5 *6-9/5-1...WILD LONGSHOT...WITH OLD HANDICAP...CAN COVER 9 WITH OLD HANDICAP BUT WEAK SECTIONALS
RACE 6 **6-5/2-8....6 MAY WIN OR LOSE BUT i APPLAUD THE STRAITS TIMES ADVERTORIALS FOR A SPLENDID EFFORT TODAY....5 MIGHT GIVE HIM A RUN FOR HIS MONEY AND ONE OR BOTH OF THEM SHOULD BEAT 8.
RACE 7 **7-5/6-4....7 HAS DECENT HR AND SF BUT HAS BEST SECTIONALS AT BOTH 1000M AND 1100M.5 HAS A WEAKER HANDICAP THAN 7 BUT BETTER SF EXTRAPOLATED OVER 1100M BUT 5 ALSO HAS 2ND BEST 1000M AND 1100M SECTIONALS
RACE 8. ***3//11-5/1-7-2-9....BEST SHOO-IN BET OF THE NIGHT N BEST QUARTET BET WITH VALUE AS i EXPECT 2 TO MISS THE TOP 4 SPOTS TO BRING VALUE TO THE EXOTICS WITH UNFANCIED AND UNHERALDED 11 SURPRISING WITH BEST HANDICAP AND 2ND BEST SECTIONALS SUCCUMBING TO THE CLASSY CREDENTIALS
